Our group strives to provide support, information, activities and resources to the community at large to help potential candidates and recipients of cochlear implants or BAHA (Bone Anchored Hearing Aid), professionals and families to better navigate and understand the process of gaining better access to improving the overall hearing experience.
The Buffalo Implant Group (B.I.G), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, was formed in January of 1985 as the first Chapter of Cochlear Implant Club International, now known as Hearing Loss Association of America.
We produce three newsletters a year, with help and assistance from individuals who have benefited from Cochlear Implant Programs and stories about their personal experiences. We hold four social/informative meetings each year.
The group’s members consists of cochlear implant patients, parents of cochlear implant patients, professionals and their support personnel who are committed to research and development of therapy to help with both speech and sound in this exciting field.
Our hope is that the implant users, their support personnel and the professionals involved in the communicative disorders fields will greatly benefit from the sharing of experiences and ideas. We are committed to providing support to cochlear implant and BAHA candidates, recipients and their families.
Come join us and share your experience with the Buffalo Implant Group!
