Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) is an umbrella term that encompasses several components. Unless all of these are being incorporated into your lymphatic routine, it isn’t truly CDT. While some people can get away with just MLD, you really can’t just take one piece of the pie. Without all components, many home programs fall apart and patients experience swelling again. Additionally, you shouldn’t be in active treatment for “years”. CDT takes 4-6 weeks for an arm, 6-8 for legs. While this is a standard and certainly not true for some, most of your journey with lymphedema should include good home management. Come in and speak with us to learn how to develop a tailored home program you can actually stick to!
