We are now giving the new COVID-19 vaccine and Flu vaccines for ages 12 and up.

We will be giving COVID-19 Bivalent Booster doses on Wednesdays and Fridays. We also have Influenza Vaccine for patients 12 and older along with High-Dose vaccine for patients 65 and older. Per CDC guidelines, both vaccines can be administered the same day. Keep in mind, individually the vaccines could make you feel a little yucky for a day or so. This could be compounded giving both together. If you choose to not receive them the same day, we recommend waiting 14 days in between. Call us with questions.

Johnston Drug has at-home COVID 19 testing kits for personal use. We continue to administer Moderna vaccine and have started administering influenza vaccine for the 21-22 season. We have both the regular dose and high-dose for those over 65 years old.

We recently had a patient report to us that someone pretending to be the Social Security office called them. They were told their SSN had been suspended and were asked to give out personal information and put money on gift cards. See below for tips on how to suspect scams, and share with those who may be more vulnerable to fall for them.

**In general, no government agency or reputable company will call or email you unexpectedly and request your personal information, or request advance fees for services in the form of wire transfers or gift cards.**

Here's what to know:

Your Social Security number will not be suspended. You don’t have to verify your number to anyone who calls out of the blue. And your bank accounts will not be seized.

SSA will never call to threaten your benefits or tell you to wire money, send cash, or put money on gift cards. Anyone who tells you to do those things is a scammer. Every time.

The real SSA number is 1-800-772-1213, but scammers are putting that number in the caller ID. If you’re worried about what the caller says, hang up and call 1-800-772-1213 to speak to the real SSA. Even if the wait time is long, confirm with the real SSA before responding to one of these calls.

Never give any part of your Social Security number to anyone who contacts you. Or your bank account or credit card number.

If you get one of these calls, tell the FTC at ftc.gov/complaint.
