Today I received a couple comments saying cardio drumming (which is not all we do) ā€œisn’t a real workout.ā€And truthfully, it didn’t bother me for me. It made me think about the women in my classes. The ones who once felt intimidated by the gym (a lot of it bc of people like the ones who made the comments). The ones rebuilding strength. The ones simply trying to move their bodies again. Let’s be clear about something……A workout is defined as physical activity that strengthens muscles and/or improves cardiovascular fitness by elevating your heart rate. That’s it. Every single week we:• Strength train• Use bodyweight movements• Challenge endurance• Elevate our heart rate—That is a workout. But even beyond definitions…No one should EVER be judged or ridiculed for moving their body. Fitness looks DIFFERENT for everyone. And that’s a beautiful thing. If someone is doing something — anything — to improve their health, that deserves applause, NOT criticism. Some movement is better than no movement. Progress is progress. Courage is courage. So if you’ve ever felt discouraged because someone belittled how you move…Please keep going. Movement is movement. And you should be proud of yourself for showing up. šŸ’—

You don’t have to have it all memorized. You don’t have to ā€œbe readyā€. You just have to show up. That’s how confidence is built. That’s how progress happens.
