Is your toddler constantly walking on their toes?
For beginners, it's often just a phase. But if they're still doing it past age 3 (or if they can't stand flat) it might be a tight Achilles tendon...or something more.
Don't guess, and don't wait. We developed the New Jersey Children’s Foot Health Institute for a reason!
Let us check their gait to ensure they're developing correctly:

Watching the big parade this morning? 🥁 Spare a thought for the marching bands and dancers! They put incredible stress on their feet and ankles to entertain us. (And if your feet hurt just from standing and watching, that's a sign you need better support!)

Walking "funny" is normal for toddlers... until it isn't. To help parents address the most common gait issues, here's a quick checklist:
✅ In-Toeing ("Pigeon Toes"): Toes point in. Usually resolves on its own, but call us if they trip constantly.
✅ Out-Toeing ("Duck Feet"): Feet turn out. Often due to flexible hips. Worth a check if it causes pain.
✅ Toe Walking: Walking on tiptoes. Normal for new walkers, but if they can't stand flat by age 3, see a specialist.
✅ Limping: A limp is almost always a sign of pain (blister, sprain, or injury).
Don't ignore it, and don't delay. If you've got concerns, get in touch with a doctor near you today: https://njpodiatrygroup.com/index.php/nearest-location/

This October, thousands of steps will be taken for very different reasons.
A marathon runner will push through 26.2 miles of pure determination. A hiker will conquer a rocky trail to see the foliage from a new peak. A family will wander through a corn maze searching for the perfect pumpkin. And a little ghost will sprint from door to door on the ultimate candy quest.

Their goals are different, but their foundation is the same: their feet.
From the high-impact demands of a race to the simple joy of a crisp evening walk, fall is one of the busiest seasons for our feet. Ignoring small issues like an unsupported arch, a rubbing shoe, or a nagging heel can sideline you from making these memories.
Don't let foot pain be a part of your autumn story. Our blog covers common issues, visible symptoms, and DIY solutions, too: https://tinyurl.com/mr93fn6u
