Are your feet itchy because of spring allergies...or is it something else? If the tops of your feet are incredibly itchy AND breaking out in tiny blisters, it might be Dyshidrotic Eczema triggered by pollen.

But if the itch is strictly between your toes, you're likely hiding Athlete's Foot. Don't find out by buying the wrong creams. Let us diagnose the itch instead! www.clarkpodiatry.com

Heading to an indoor trampoline park for Spring Break?
Watch out for a Hyper-Flexion Sprain. Bouncing kiddos get them all the time.

Because the surface of a trampoline is entirely unpredictable, if you land while another person is bouncing nearby (the double-bounce), the mat can force your ankle to roll at a severe, unnatural angle that concrete never would.
Tell them to wear the provided grip socks to prevent slipping, never share a single trampoline square with another jumper, and if someone gets hurt...

Call us! We can fix the problem before it gets worse:

April is National Foot Health Awareness Month, making it the perfect time to focus on the foundation of your body: your feet. Foot health is often overlooked until pain or discomfort becomes unavoidable.

The truth is, healthy feet are essential for overall mobility, balance, and quality of life. This month, take a proactive approach by keeping these five important foot health tips in mind: https://tinyurl.com/5n94tz85

It’s Foot Health Awareness Month for the little ones, too! If your child frequently trips, complains of "tired legs" after a short walk, or walks strictly on their toes past age 3, they likely have a structural issue.

Ignoring pediatric flat feet or tight Achilles tendons alters their gait permanently. Early, non-invasive support (like pediatric orthotics) can ensure they grow up pain-free: https://tinyurl.com/mufbunt7

The weather is better, and your dog is excited. But when they suddenly lunge after a squirrel and you brace yourself? That sudden, twisting force on your foot is a leading cause of spring ankle sprains and torn plantar fascias.
The takeaway? Wear proper, stable sneakers for your dog walk. No slip-ons!

Apologies to our patients, but our phone system has been down since an unfortunate car accident on Raritan Rd. early Wednesday morning. We’re waiting for Comcast to finish the last part of the repairs to restore our service. We are receiving phone messages and will get back to you as we can, hopefully on Monday.

Doctor Ornstein was a one-of-a-kind leader and mentor to the profession of Podiatric Medicine. He was a graduate of Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, class of 1987, and he completed his postgraduate training under the tutelage of Eric Hubbard, DPM. While a student, he held the role of American Podiatric Medical Students Association delegate. Later on, he assumed a leadership role in the development of the American Podiatric Medical Postgraduate Association (APMPA), at a time when postgraduate training had no guardrails.

As a strong advocate of practicing physicians, Dr. Ornstein dove into the depths of the then-struggling American Academy of Podiatric Practice Management. Over tireless years, hundreds of lectures, and meetings across this country (not to mention our neighbor to the north), he shared the beauty of his profession with enthusiasm and relentless energy. His mentorship activities have helped hundreds of students and young doctors over the years.

Private practice was his “yellow brick road.” For those who knew of his love for the Wizard of Oz, this comes as no surprise. Patients were dazzled by his personality and compassion. In his hometown of Howell, everyone knew his reputation for offering support, both monetarily and physically, to members of his community.

The New Jersey Podiatric Physicians and Surgeons Group was his dream child: a true ‘super-group’, where those involved were not only members, but brothers and sisters joined together through a fellowship. It was perhaps one of the first groups in the country to discuss ‘clinical protocols.’ This organization has led the way and acted as a forefront for many other group practices.

Although Doctor Ornstein stepped back from patient care some time ago, his guiding philosophy of warmth and clinical excellence remains the cornerstone of all we do. Our office remains fully open, and our dedicated team is actively treating patients. As we work hard to help others, we keep Hal in our hearts. In this way, he will always be here with us.

In keeping with Hal’s faith and belief, a private internment will take place with family. A celebration of his life will take place in the upcoming weeks, with an announcement prior.

Please keep Hal’s family in your thoughts in the ensuing days.
