đ§ Trainer Tip of the Week: Slow Reps = More Muscle
When you slow down a rep, you increase mechanical tension â the #1 driver of hypertrophy. A controlled lowering phase creates more actinâmyosin cross-bridge formation, recruits higher-threshold motor units, and boosts time under tension (TUT).
Translation? Less momentum, more stimulus, better results.
Try this: 3â1â1 tempo
3 sec lowering â 1 sec pause â 1 sec controlled lift.
Control the rep. Build the muscle.
And as always â if you want training that teaches you why your body changes (not just what to do), our Semi-PT program is built exactly for this.
