The Louis A. Johnson VAMC Sleep Medicine Program was recently featured on WBOY 12News. The robust program not only provides services to North Central WV Veterans, but also supports other VA sites throughout the state of West Virginia and beyond.

Sleep Medicine Services at the Clarksburg VA address a wide spectrum of sleep-related issues, including obstructive sleep apnea, REM behavior disorder, periodic limb movement disorder, restless leg syndrome, narcolepsy, hypersomnia, insomnia (in collaboration with our Mental Health team), bruxism, as well as sleepwalking and sleep talking.

Please talk with your Primary Care Provider for a referral to the Sleep Clinic if you are experiencing any sleep-related concerns.

According to the U.S Department of Veterans affairs, more than 140,000 veterans live in West Virginia with many of them being over the age of 50.

Please join us at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center for the Great American Smokeout on Thursday, November 20, from 10am – 2pm. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is encouraging Veterans to learn how to Quit Like a Pro. Here are three pro tips: (1) explore all VA to***co treatments available to you, including coaching, prescription medications, ni****ne replacement therapies, and counseling; (2) use medication and counseling together—real-life results show that this gives you the best chance of stopping for good; and (3) understand that, as with any skill, every attempt you make to stop teaches you something that can help you quit later. Talk with your VA health care provider about options for quitting, such as joining the VA’s To***co Use Coaching Group. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please contact Ginger Delawder at 304-623-3461 x 3156. or call 1-855-QUIT-VET (1-855-784-8838) to get started today.
