Coronavirus - We are Prepared to Protect and Provide Care
________________________________________
Our Clinic is prepared for all types of infectious diseases such as the flu or the new viruses like coronavirus (COVID-19). We are taking proactive steps to prepare for the protection of patients, our caregivers and the community and monitoring ongoing updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) related to COVID-19.
Protect Yourself and Others
Simple preventive actions can reduce the spread of respiratory diseases like coronavirus.
• Wash your hands with soap and water or hand sanitizer containing 70% or more alcohol.
• Cover your cough or sneeze with a bent elbow or tissue and immediately dispose of the tissue.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
• Stay home when you are sick with respiratory symptoms, except to get medical care.
Screening and Preparedness
All patients are being screened for COVID-19 symptoms and risk factors and we have a response plan to protect patients and our staff should it be needed.
When a physician determines a patient meets the risk criteria, they will order testing and manage the patient’s care and ultimate disposition.
Known Risk Factors for COVID-19
• Travel from a high-risk area
• Contact with a person known to be infected
• Fever, cough and shortness of breath
If You are Sick
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advises mildly ill patients should be encouraged to stay home and contact their healthcare provider by phone for guidance about clinical management.
Patients who have severe symptoms, such as difficulty breathing, should seek care immediately.
Older patients and individuals who have underlying medical conditions or are immunocompromised should contact their physician early in the course of even mild illness.
We understand the sensitivity at this time and remain alert and proactive in our work to protect our patients, caregivers and community.
