💥 IMPORTANT UPDATE on KY State Employee insurance and GLP1 medications for 2026 💥
From what I have seen so far, ALL insurance plans are requiring you to meet your deductible before it will pay for the shots. You can still use a manufacturer coupon to spin down the cost a little and that also goes toward helping you meet your deductible. You can use your HSA and or flex cards to pay for the prescriptions. I am hopeful that once the deductible is met, it will be affordable again.
Also, last year CVS Caremark substituted the Zepbound with Mounjaro. They took that option off the PA form this year. So, if you were once approved for Mounjaro in place of your Zepbound, that will not be the case this year. So for those you, you will likely have to meet the deductible for the Zepbound this year as well.
I have been doing PAs ALL day! If you have not had a current physical please schedule ASAP so that there will not be a delay in your prescriptions! When your new PA is sent to me, I have to have documentation to send within the last 6 months. Our office will call you to schedule a follow up appointment when that is needed. No need to call for follow up appointments, ONLY if your physical is due.
Please share and let us know how we can help!!
