Today is October 15th - Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Day. A day to honor babies lost due to miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant death, and to raise awareness about the challenges faced by families experiencing such loss.
It’s hard not to think of the two little ones we lost last year. It’s hard not to feel guilty that they aren’t here with us. It’s hard to be 100% happy that we have this new little one on the way because I still have so much fear of loosing her.
Pregnancy after a loss is SO HARD!
Here are some ways to support someone who is grieving a pregnancy or infant loss:
Offer empathy: Say something like “I’m so sorry for your loss”
Listen: Let the person know that you see them and their pain.
Talk about feelings: Talking about your baby and your feelings can be helpful and comforting.
Find support: You can talk to your partner, friends, family, health care provider, social worker, grief counselor, or anyone you feel comfortable with.
You are not alone 🤍
