SIGNS OF HOPE ๐Ÿ’™

Southside Behavioral Health is launching ๐˜š๐˜ช๐˜จ๐˜ฏ๐˜ด ๐˜ฐ๐˜ง ๐˜๐˜ฐ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฆ, a community-wide effort to increase visibility of the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline across Brunswick, Halifax, and Mecklenburg Counties.

These free, metal 988 signs are available for businesses, schools, churches, and community organizations to post in visible locations and parking lots. The 988 Lifeline is available 24/7 by call or chat and connects individuals directly to trained crisis counselors and local crisis teams when support is needed most.

A Coalition member, Recovering Hands, is hosting a Donor Appreciation and Dedication Ceremony on Saturday, April 18th at their location, 4067 Beulah Road, Nathalie, VA.

Recovering Hands provides Peer support to women seeking to learn a new way of life after experiencing the degradation and hopelessness of substance abuse. Their program is based on the โ€œeach one teach oneโ€ model. The therapeutic value of one recovering person helping another is without parallel.

On April 4th, SBH Prevention Services hosted REVIVE and safeTALK at River Ridge Chapel in Bracey.

REVIVE teaches participants how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose, respond, and administer Naloxone. 9 participants were trained at River Ridge!

safeTALK is a half-day training on su***de prevention. This class teaches anyone over the age of15 how to identify someone with thoughts of su***de, connect them with resources and help them stay safe. 12 participants were trained at River Ridge on April 4th! Thank you to River Ridge for inviting us and allowing SBH to use your facilities to hold these important trainings.

Our Community Partners, Virginia Legal Aid Society, is offering free workshops in our area!

In June, they will be offering a workshop on SSDI (Social Security Disability Insurance) and Intro to SNAP

In July, they will be offering a workshop on SSA (Social Security Administration) and Intro to SNAP

Both workshops will take place at 914 Virginia Ave in Clarksville (Clarksville Library) and are at no cost to participants!

Join Us for our 2nd Annual SMVF Mental Health Summit
Southside Behavioral Health, in partnership with Danville-Pittsylvania Community Services, Blue Ridge Behavioral Health, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, invites you to the Service Members, Veterans & Families (SMVF) Mental Health Summit on May 21, 2026, from 8:30 AM โ€“ 3:30 PM at The Prizery in South Boston, VA.

This FREE event will connect military populations with local providers, resource tables, and educational sessions aimed at addressing the unique challenges they face. Attendees will have the opportunity to access valuable services, network with experts, and explore ways to strengthen support for service members, veterans, and their families.
