On July 22, 2025 Southside's Children and Family Services partnered with Brunswick County Sheriff's Office for their Public Safety Discovery Camp. Campers, ages 9-13 yrs old, learned different safety topics from many organizations. Southside provided an "escape room challenge" where campers had to find the clues to solve the mystery word. During this activity they were able to learn more about su***de prevention, create their own crisis plan/learn about 988, learn the importance of coping skills, understanding anxiety, how to deal with peer pressure, and find out more about mental health services by having the chance to "ask a professional". The event was well attended with about 76 day campers who were enthusiastic and eager to learn!

From emergency food boxes to monthly distributions, there are many opportunities to receive support including at Tri-County Community Action Agency’s Serving Hope Food Pantry, which is open the second Monday of every month.

Permanent Supportive Housing at Southside Behavioral Health is looking for property rentals. We assist with rental assistance up to 100% for a full lease term and more. We complete monthly inspections and work closely with property management. This is a great opportunity to work with a fantastic team. We are looking for properties in Mecklenburg, Brunswick and Halifax County that are priced according to the Virginia Housing Fair Market Rate.
