One day in TODDLER MEALS using ROUTINE, SCHEDULE + PLANNED MEALS π€
Today, Iβm sharing an example of a daily meal routine/plan for a toddler (this was for my daughter at age 3). I planned her meals, using Ashley π Dietitian Mom] βs βLove it, Like it, Leaning itβ approach. This strategy makes meals planning way easier!!
ββ-
8:00am Breakfast
β’ Love it: strawberries, pineapples, toast with butter
β’ Like it: scrambled eggs
β’ Learning it: green pepper
ββ-
11:00am Lunch
β’ Love it: grilled cheese
β’ Like it: watermelon
β’ Learning it: cucumber + tomatoes
*Here, I served the tomatoes on the side (sometimes off the plate) because they are a big challenge. This is ππ». They donβt have to be on your childβs plate. As long as you plan them as part of the meal, you are making a difference.
ββ-
2:00pm Snack
β’ Love it: veggie straws + blueberries
β’ Like it: hummus
β’ Learning it: cucumber
*I served the cucumber again, but in a different shape. Avoid serving the exact same food two days in a row. If you do, especially if a loved food, this can lead to food jags (see previous post for info on that).
ββ-
5:00pm Dinner
β’ Love it: roll with butter
β’ Like it: ground grass-fed beef + ranch
β’ Learning it: lasagna + lettuce
*Lasagna was our family dinner. To make it work for everyone, I added safe foods (meat, bread, butter, ranch) to the meal.
