Meet Jessie!

You may be a teen navigating the intensity of growing up, or an adult in the midst of life changes—graduating, moving, starting or ending relationships, shifting identities. Anxiety, depression, or grief may leave you feeling uncertain, disconnected, or stuck. What you want most is clarity: to understand yourself better, to feel steadier in your body, and to move through transition with resilience and authenticity. You’re looking for a safe space where your experiences are honored and you can rediscover confidence, meaning, and hope.

Jessie's ideal clients crave depth and meaning where her sessions give space to explore life’s questions, shift old patterns, and discover clarity and confidence through change. She weaves mindfulness, grounding, and body awareness with a holistic style that honors your story and strengths.

If you’re drawn to deeper questions—about who you are, what matters, or how to move forward—Jessie offers a supportive space to explore them. She meets life’s changes with curiosity and care, providing witness as you uncover clarity, confidence, and growth.

We would like to introduce our newest intern Mo! Mo works well with people who have been told they’re "difficult, intense, or hard to understand" — including neurodivergent clients and others who have felt dropped, dismissed, or unseen in traditional spaces. For Mo, therapy is where raw honesty meets acceptance, and where clients don’t have to apologize for the depth, complexity, or uniqueness of who they are.

Guided by both her professional training and her own lived insight, Mo leans in where others might back away. She is attuned to the realities of overwhelming emotions, relentless self-criticism, addiction, and the turbulence of relationships. She also recognizes the ways neurodivergent clients are often misunderstood or pressured to conform, and she values creating a space where their differences are honored as part of their full story. Mo respects the strategies her clients have used to survive, even when those strategies have come at a cost, and she brings a grounded, steady presence to the storm. With her, clients can expect not to be tamed or silenced, but to be met fully — intensity, neurodivergence, contradictions, and all — with curiosity and respect.

Reach out to schedule a session if you feel Mo would be a good fit!

After a full year with us, we’re saying goodbye to our incredible intern, Elena. It's always a bittersweet leaving.

It’s hard to put into words what it’s been like to witness her growth—not just as a therapist, but as a person who truly listens, feels deeply, and shows up with heart. Elena brought thoughtfulness, curiosity, and quiet strength into every space she entered. She held space with care. And she never stopped paying attention—to the people she served, to the work, to herself.

What unfolded wasn’t just skill-building—it was something more honest, more human. Elena allowed herself to grow in ways that mattered. And we’re better for it.

While we’ll miss her presence here, we’re excited to see the kind of therapist she has become. Elena will be an asset to any counseling space she steps into. She brings warmth without pretense, clarity without judgment, and a genuine respect for the stories people carry. The clients she will serve will feel seen, heard, and deeply supported.

Elena, thank you for everything.

Sending all the love, confidence, and grounded presence to my incredible intern Alyssa as she takes her National Counseling Exam this morning!

I’ve had the privilege of working alongside many bright, passionate souls—but Alyssa is something rare. She is the kind of clinician who doesn’t just want to help others—she listens with her whole being, sees people in their complexity, and holds space with reverence.

She found her counseling identity early, but not through ego. Through deep alignment. Through choosing integrity over perfection, presence over pressure, growth over performance.

Alyssa is one of the best interns I’ve ever worked with—not because of what she knows (which is a lot), but because of how she shows up. Every day. With compassion. Curiosity. Courage.

Watching her grow into this work has been a gift. She inspires me, teaches me, and reminds me why we do this sacred work.

You’ve got this today, Alyssa. The field is so lucky to have you—and you’re just getting started.

🪷Midlife is not a breakdown — it’s a return to the body’s truth.🪷

🌿 Somatic therapy helps women meet this transition with attunement, not avoidance. With embodiment, not suppression.

And with support that honors the body as a source of wisdom, not just symptoms. It’s about finally understanding the version of you that adapted without regulation — and giving her what she needed all along.

To those who often feel they are a burden, please be aware that your existence and needs do not impose undue strain on others. Having needs, whether its emotional support or some other type of support is a fundamental aspect of humanity. Reach for others. Let them decide their capability or capacity. Believe them when they want to nurture and be with you—not for what you do, but for who you are.

For more perspective, please read this substack written by the indomitable Andrea Gibson. I share this through grief, as Andrea has recently died. They were a force in the poetry world—and every other world they’ve inhabited. There is immense wisdom in their words.

✨What is Guided Drawing in therapy?✨

🌿 There is no analysis. No performance. Just your body, a surface, and the safety to let something complete itself.

✨The Importance of Emotional Vocabulary ✨

🪷 The more precisely we can name it, the more clearly we can meet it.

🪷Emotional vocabulary isn’t about being dramatic or overly sensitive....it’s about healing in the right direction.

Why Posture & Novelty Matter in Early Healing

Before we dive into deep narratives or reframe old beliefs, we start with the body.
Because regulation comes first.

✨ We help the nervous system:

Learn what safety feels like

Recognize when it’s out of alignment

Explore new, embodied responses

This is what builds capacity—not catharsis.

What That Looks Like in Practice:

A client notices her chest tightens when she speaks her needs. She pauses. Expands her ribs. Feels her feet. Her voice softens. Grief rises—and this time, there’s space for it to move.

Another client curls inward when conflict arises. We explore that impulse… and then gently try something new: standing tall, spine lifted, meeting her own gaze in the mirror. A sense of choice returns.

Body-based therapy isn’t about fixing.
It’s about noticing the shapes pain left behind—
and offering something different.

✨ One gesture at a time.
✨ One breath at a time.
✨ One posture at a time.
