share that River Valley Counseling & Therapy is solely owned and has been since 2016 by Amanda Jones-Shelton. Please review with the Arkansas Secretary of State for verification. It is and will remain a solo practice. 4792647307 IS and HAS ALWAYS been the direct line to Amanda who for all unknown calls will answer “This is Amanda” for security reasons and patient protection. This direct access is to be in compliance with emergency access required by the state for ALL mental health professionals. No other individual has not ever has had the authority to make executive decisions for River Valley Counseling & Therapy, PA as an entity. Again please refer to the Arkansas Secretary of State. We are very much OPEN! Amanda provides an array of services to her patients approved by insurance and ethics to accommodate the diverse needs of patients.
Any unauthorized access to anything pertaining to River Valley Counseling and Therapy, false information disseminated, or attempts to obtain unauthorized information will not be tolerated and is being closely monitored. Stay tuned for more updates and exciting news!

River Valley Counseling & Therapy will be closed as scheduled on Monday, May 26, 2025, in observance of Memorial Day. As a provider of services to military veterans and their families, it is fitting that we acknowledge the significance of this holiday and pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms. Today, we encourage everyone to take a moment of silence to honor those who did not return home and express gratitude to those who did. To each and every individual who served, I extend my sincerest appreciation for your service and reaffirm our commitment to prioritizing the mental healthcare needs of our military personnel and veterans.

Our deepest apologies to any who’ve attempted to reach out via messenger. It was discovered last night somehow the auto reply we had set for a year changed and defaulted to an old number. The primary number is 479-264-7307. This has been corrected along with a FAQ section added to our page. We assume an update may have caused that and the lack of adding the new app for businesses. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of you who shared and commented thoughtfully. The source of the rumor and misinformation was identified and clarification provided. Thank you all for your kindness and support. Phyllis McCulley was able to catch the comment that identified the problem and source. We hope the misinformation that we are closed has been corrected. No there hasn’t been a lack of work just a change in methods of service delivery to ensure patient needs are met.

URGENT CLARIFICATION: We are not closed nor have I ever closed for an extended period. We have relocated, as reflected on the Arkansas Secretary of State’s Website, which was updated at the time of relocation in early 2024. In 2024, our previous location at 1208 S Rogers St suffered major flood damage due to a burst pipe on the top floor, necessitating relocation. As previously done, my business profile on Google was updated to the 413 S Rogers St address. A change from that location, was initiated in 2022 to address concerns about confusion on practice and damage from a car striking the building. Despite diligent monitoring and correction, this recurring issue persisted. Since the beginning of 2024, I have offered various offsite services and telehealth options to accommodate the evolving needs and demands of the population amidst changing environmental and economic conditions. This clarification addresses the multitude of questions and confusion among the population, which was coincidentally brought to my attention on 4/22/2025. As the sole proprietor and executive director of this organization since its inception in 2016, I, Amanda Jones-Shelton, LPC, would like to apologize for any misconceptions and assure you that corrections are being made through all necessary and appropriate means to prevent any hindrance to my professional practice. Each occurrence, in multiple forms, prompts further action that can be time consuming. I appreciate all the patrons who have been faithful despite the unfortunate confusion. Please share and help negate this misinformation. Thank you to all.
