Sincerest apologies for any patient or individual whose call may have been missed or not returned. Recent internet and cellular updates combined with strons have been a big barrier in returning calls. An update to some android devices included a spam call blocker and do not call sign up. That in turn blocked us from returning calls and they are going straight to voicemail becaue the main line is a cellular device afrikiatedwith a business. With increased spam calling to main line appearing like local numbers, it’s very hard to tell what is spam and what is referrals and voicemaik invix is filking uo qu**ky. If you haven’t heard from us as expected PLEASE reach out. Many missed calls were returned but went to voicemail or said “caller is unavailable”. If you are a patient please take steps to check your settings to make sure our line wasn’t blocked inadvertently. I know we have resolved this for many patients but there are still some problems being reported. You can also email the new secure non spam filled email by emailing amandajonesshelton@rivervalleycounselingtherapy.com if you think you may have been impacted.

Due to the current road conditions, parking lot, and fall risks at the office located at 401 E Main Street Suite 1 Clarksville, River Valley Counseling & Therapy, PA is closed to on site services until the road ways are cleared and such is safe for patients. Telehealth services are available beginning Monday as well as Crisis Intervention for current patients. An emergency resource guide is being provided for both patrons and the communities to include a line for up to date information for food and shelter. I hope everyone stays safe and warm through this winter weather.

River Valley Counseling and Therapy is closed for Christmas from Dec 22 and will resume normal business on Dec 29th. Crisis response services will continue to be available 24/7 for patients.

River Valley Counseling and Therapy is officially closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday and hopes to have served everyone possible in the uncertain times and apologizes if anyone was missed as a result of cellular interruption, emergencies, and crisis response. As always Amanda Jones-Shelton is available for crisis calls 24/7 and can be reached at the main number.
We hope all our patrons and families are healthy as possible, stay safe, and have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday. Official business hours and routine will resume on Monday. River Valley Counseling and Therapy is very thankful as always to serve the urgent mental health needs of our communities as well as provide the routine day to day mental health care and support.

Sincerest apologies if you are waiting for an appointment. Due to large call volume, referrals, and crisis calls we have fallen a bit behind in the normal 24-48 hour response time. If you are in need of services please call 479-264-7307.
Effective Oct 15, 2025 if you request a standing appointment especially for telehealth and fail to keep such with no notification after the 3 time, you will need to call to set up a specific time so others who actively want that appointment time (especially evenings) can have such. If you arrive onsite and don’t receive communication after 10min please notify you are on site. Internet delays sometimes lag on door notifications or none are received during peak afternoon hours as a result of internet service issues.

share that River Valley Counseling & Therapy is solely owned and has been since 2016 by Amanda Jones-Shelton. Please review with the Arkansas Secretary of State for verification. It is and will remain a solo practice. 4792647307 IS and HAS ALWAYS been the direct line to Amanda who for all unknown calls will answer “This is Amanda” for security reasons and patient protection. This direct access is to be in compliance with emergency access required by the state for ALL mental health professionals. No other individual has not ever has had the authority to make executive decisions for River Valley Counseling & Therapy, PA as an entity. Again please refer to the Arkansas Secretary of State. We are very much OPEN! Amanda provides an array of services to her patients approved by insurance and ethics to accommodate the diverse needs of patients.
