They show up for us every single day. It is time we show up for them. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ’™

First responders and veterans carry burdens the rest of us rarely see. The weight of what they have witnessed, the strain of service, the silence that so often follows β€” these are real mental health challenges that deserve real, specialized care.

At PCS, we provide dedicated counseling services for first responders, veterans, and their family members. Our therapists understand the unique pressures of service life β€” the hypervigilance, the moral injury, the challenge of asking for help when you have spent a career being the one who helps others.

No badge, no rank, no deployment history should stand between a hero and seeking help with mental health.

Many of the veterans and first responders we serve access care through our adjusted-fee scale β€” and that is made possible by donors who believe their service deserves our support.

This week, consider honoring the protectors in our community by making a gift in their name. πŸ’™

What does it mean when we say "mental health care for everyone"? At PCS, it means exactly that. πŸ’™

Our adjusted-fee scale is one of the most important tools we have β€” and one of the least understood. It allows us to serve individuals and families at a reduced cost based on their income. For many of our clients, this is the difference between getting help and going without.

We have heard from families who drove over an hour to reach us because they could not find affordable care closer to home. We have seen people who had given up hope until someone pointed them to PCS.

None of this is possible without the donors who fill the gap between what clients can pay and what their care actually costs.

You make the adjusted-fee scale work. You are the reason no one has to say, "I just cannot afford to feel better."

πŸ’™ Thank you. If you would like to support this work, we would be grateful.

Did you know PCS has board-certified music therapists on staff? 🎡

Music therapy is far more than singing songs. It is an evidence-based clinical practice that helps children and adults process trauma, regulate emotions, improve communication, and find joy. Our music therapists work with youth, adults, and individuals with special needs β€” and the results are remarkable.

Programs like this do not run on goodwill alone. Instruments, therapist training, and accessibility for low-income families β€” all of it is made possible by generous donors who believe that progress can happen in unexpected ways.

When you give to PCS, you might be funding a child's breakthrough moment. A veteran finally feeling something other than pain. A moment of real, lasting connection.

πŸ’™ Your donation makes music therapy possible.

Every day, someone in our community takes a brave step toward healing β€” and your generosity makes it possible. πŸ’™

At Personal Counseling Services, we have been walking alongside families in Indiana and Kentucky since 1959. That is over six decades of showing up for people facing depression, grief, trauma, anxiety, and so much more.

Here is what many people do not know: a significant portion of the people we serve could not afford care without your support. Our adjusted-fee scale means no one is turned away because of their financial situation β€” and that is only possible because donors like you believe in accessible mental health care.

When you invest in PCS, you are not just funding a therapy session. You are helping a parent reconnect with their child, a veteran find peace, a family stay together.

Thank you for being part of this work. πŸ’™

Behind every music therapy session at PCS is a board-certified therapist who chose this work because they believe in the power of music to heal. πŸŽ΅πŸ’™

Our music therapists bring clinical training, creativity, and deep compassion to every session. They aren't just musicians β€” they're mental health professionals who understand trauma, development, grief, and the science of how music affects the brain and body.
They show up for clients who are struggling. They celebrate breakthroughs that happen one note at a time. And they do it all with the kind of dedication that doesn't make the news, but changes lives every single day.
This World Music TherapyWeek, we want to say thank you β€” to our therapists, to the donors who fund this work, and to the community that makes it all possible.

Music therapy isn't just for children β€” it's a powerful tool for adults and individuals with special needs, too. 🎢
At PCS, our board-certified music therapists work with adults navigating depression, anxiety, grief, and trauma β€” as well as individuals with physical, cognitive, or developmental differences.
For someone living with a serious mental health condition, a chronic illness, or a disability, music therapy can open doors to expression, connection, and quality of life that other approaches don't always reach.
We believe that healing is for everyone β€” at every age and every ability level. That's the PCS way.

Children often struggle to find words for big feelings. That's where music therapy comes in. 🎡
At PCS, our board-certified music therapists work with children and youth who are navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, behavioral challenges, and developmental differences. Through rhythm, melody, and creative expression, kids can begin to process their emotions in a safe, supportive environment.
Think of a child who shuts down in traditional talk therapy β€” but lights up when given a drum or a song to finish. That moment of connection is where progress begins.
Our music therapy program serves youth across Indiana and Kentucky. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we're able to keep this specialized care accessible for families of all income levels.
