✨Death Doula✨
I have been asked this question on multiple occasions when I’ve spoken about becoming one….So what exactly is a *Death Doula*?
There are multiple names as to what we can be called but I prefer to call it for what it is. Death Doula.
We work beside Hospice care to provide a non-medical/ holistic approach to those facing death, terminal illness, and their families.
💫 Emotional Support - helping you to process the thoughts, emotions and experiences to come. Emotions will be all over the place and we are here to help bring a sense of comfort and peace to the situation.
💫 Spiritual Support - regardless of your background, Faith can bring us closer especially when we are faced with the end. I am also a facilitator of more sacred ceremonies that we can hold together in honor of your beloved.
💫 End of Life Planning - It can be overwhelming to locate important documents, have a will ready, we can provide resources and help with the process.
💫Legacy Projects - How do you want to be remembered? We help with just that!
💫 Practical work - Helping run errands, groceries, the mundane tasks that may seem to hard to do, we are here to help lighten that load! While we even help plan a funeral and will make the calls to help make the arrangements.
💫 Advocacy - As your sounding board we help advocate for your concerns with health care systems, as well as dying wishes.
And most importantly but certainly not the least
💫 BEING PRESENT - We are you’re safe space. Free from judgment of concerns, we are here to just BE with you. Even if that means to just sit and listen. We are there. If we are just needed to sit with your beloved so that they are not alone, we are there. I am a firm believer that this is something you do not ever have to face alone, and I will be there, holding your hand along the way. 🫶🏻
