We’ve seen many kids fighting respiratory illnesses at Rooted Family Wellness, and we know how tough it is to watch your child feel unwell. But illness is part of building a resilient immune system, and we’re here to support you.
For babies, breast milk provides unmatched immune support. If breastfeeding isn’t an option, there are other ways to help—reach out for guidance.
Appetite naturally decreases during illness. If your child is hungry, offer nutrient-dense foods like bone broth or smoothies, but don’t force it. For hydration, prioritize breast milk, bone broth, coconut water, or natural fruit juices over plain water to maintain electrolyte balance.
Fevers are a natural defense. Instead of suppressing them, skin-to-skin contact and warm baths (slightly above body temperature) can help regulate temperature and ease discomfort.
Chiropractic care supports respiratory function, lymphatic drainage, and immune response by optimizing the nervous system, helping the body heal more efficiently.
Laser therapy can further support recovery:
• Violet laser – Antimicrobial & antiviral effects
• Infrared & red light therapy – Enhances mitochondrial function for better immune response and reduced inflammation
Key nutrients for recovery:
• Vitamin D – Immune function
• Vitamin C – Antioxidant support
• Zinc – Immune defense
• Vitamin A – Respiratory health
Herbs like echinacea and elderberry syrup provide additional immune support.
We caution against Tamiflu and acetaminophen, which can interfere with the body’s natural healing process.
The body is designed to heal—our role is to support, not suppress. Trust the process and know we’re here for you. 💛
