When something isn't right in your business, make sure you're checking the right thing. 🤔

This morning I woke to an occasional "chirp", which my sleepy brain first thought was a bird outside my window.

Then I realized the sound was more tech than bird, and was inside the house. I checked all of the smoke detectors, but each time it chirped, it sounded like it was coming from somewhere else--not the one I was standing under.

Got my son to help investigate the sound. The best I could conclude was that is was definitely on the main floor, and "maybe the sound is being thrown/echoing off something...and that's why I don't hear it right by it."🤷‍♀️

Pushed the buttons (which ended up sounding off all of the actual alarms throughout the house since they are all connected), attempted to disconnect to change the battery (nope, not with these sealed lithium battery alarms), and even blew out the vent in case some debris was stuck there.

Eventually my husband came home early from work to try to fix it...or he was going to have to replace all of the detectors in the house (model discontinued).

After about 20 minutes of him taking it apart and trying to figure it out, he realized an important factor: The f'in sound wasn't coming from the smoke detectors--it was coming from the carbon monoxide detector that was hidden on top of a mf cupboard above the dryer!!! 😵‍💫He put it up there when we moved in 3 years ago (instead of mounting it) and forgot about it.

➡️ So what does this have to do with your business?

When you seem to be struggling to create a thriving business, of course there are obvious things you are going to check: Your website, SEO, marketing, networking.

But sometimes those are all going to look good--so then what?
If the obvious things all look good (to you and to others with success in these areas), then it is time to consider what you can't obviously see.

✨It's time to look for the hidden alert system that is telling you something is off: your energy.✨

Your beliefs about yourself and if success is possible for you carry energy my friends. And if you ask your brain, it might tell you that you are worthy of success...but if the results aren't there, you might want to ask your deep-down gut instead. This is where your sneaky beliefs hang out and end up sabotaging your best efforts, because you attract what you feel, not what you say. 🤯

Whether someone is in a helping profession or just seems to be known as "the one everyone turns to for help", oftentimes they have never been taught how to pay attention to their OWN feelings, needs, and desires...
..and when that happens long enough, things like anxiety, self-doubt, relationship issues and grief eventually bubble to the surface.

"Getting through the day" feels like a permanent goal. Relationships can suffer. Finances become a constant source of stress.

They are so good at helping others, but struggle with asking for their own help, or have no idea how to actually allow others to help. They were taught to care for others, not pay attention to themselves.

It is why I am so passionate and keep finding more ways to help them get to the ROOT of the beliefs that are holding them back, so that they can learn how to shift not only how they feel, but what shows up in their lives.

Doubt becomes hope. Sadness becomes compassion. Fear becomes connection. Stagnation becomes inspiration. ❤
