Jay Carrol 65 of Clay City passed away December 18, 2025, from a massive stroke in his brain at the Albert Chandler U.K. Hospital in Lexington, KY. He was born March 4, 1960, at Beyer Memorial Hospital in Ypsilanti, MI, to Essie Marie (Prince) Carroll and Grady Carroll. He moved to Kentucky when he was about 20 Years old. Jay is survived by his daughter Emily Ann Carroll, brother James Brian Carroll, and sisters Susan Gilbee and Cherie Danell, nieces and nephew John Gilbee, Sarah Gilbee Nielsen, and Sydney, Carroll Michael Darnell, David Darnell He had a special friend in Rennie (Serena) Hardy. J has several surviving aunts who care deeply about him. He was proceeded in death by his father, mother, a younger brother Matthew Carroll, (who lived in Morehead, KY); and a niece Stephanie Rix. Jay used to work at auto body shops until Neuropathy took the feeling in his hands. He loved to repair cars and truck engines when he could. Always helping friends when they needed his knowledge about their vehicles. One of his favorite things to do was twostep with his girlfriend, Jo Epperson at a dance hall he tried to visit weekly. As a matter of fact, the two of them went there the night he had the stroke and had a great time. Jay will be cremated at Grayson Funeral Home in Clay City, KY. His remains will be taken to Highland Cemetery in Ypsilanti, MI. Where he will be with his mother, aunts and uncles, and cousin.

Larry Willoughby 76 of Jeffersonville passed away at his residence Monday, December 15, 2025. He was born on November 19, 1949, in Stanton to J. D. and Teresia Willoughby. He was a former employee of Hobart’s and A.O. Smith and was a member of the Church of God in Stanton. He loved his Church, his family, Fishing and piddling in his garage. He is survived by his wife Bonnie Gross Willoughby, a son Larry Christopher Willougby (Trish), a daughter Valarie Kay Donathan (Rodney), three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, four brothers Sherman Willougby (Nit), Leon Willoughby, Linville Willoughby, Jeff Willoughby, four sisters Becky Henry, Sharlene Stevenson (Tom), Madonna Lawson and Ruth Charles. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers Bill, Johnny, and Luther Willoughy. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the Christian Assembly of God in Mt. Roy Douglas Johnson 78 of Clay City passed away Saturday, December 13, 2025, at his residence after a long illness. Roy was born June 9, 1947, in Clay City to Elmer and Belvia Johnson. He was a retired Heavy equipment operator, Mechanic, and Carpenter. He loved his family and friends, kids, and dogs. He was happiest when he was on his backhoe or motorcycle or under the hood of any vehicle. He had a firm belief in God, without a deep understanding of doctrine. But I convinced him that God understood his simple prayer. He was baptized in the Methodist Church but just wanted to be just a Christian. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Debra, a daughter Rebecca Johnson, two sons Nathan Johnson (April), Casey Johnson (Veronica) three grandchildren Amber Johnson, Dillard Blackburn, April Johnson three great grandchildren Ethan Whisman, Waylon Johnson, and Jasey Spencer. He was preceded in death by his parents two brothers Harold and Ronnie Johnson, two sisters Josephine Brush and Thelma Muncie. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the Grayson funeral Home Chapel in Clay City with Bro. Sammy Falkner officiating. David Allen Anderson age 73 of Clay City passed away Monday November 3, 2025. He was born in Powell County on March 13, 1952, to the late Everett and Betty Anderson. David enjoyed C**n Hunting and going to all the dog shows and c**n hunts. He was the President for the Montgomery County C**n Hunters Club. He also enjoyed collecting knives. He loved to find a good deal to swap and trade on. He never met a stranger. In addition to his parents David was preceded in death by his wife Fay Anderson, a brother Leonard Anderson, and on sister Joyce Stanhope. He is survived by two brothers John Anderson and Paul Anderson of Mt. Sterling, four sisters Helen (Robert) Mize, Barbara Seale Tipton of Clay City, Patty Knox and Cindy (Bobby), Willoughby of Mt. Bobby (Chugger) Isaacs 80 of Irvine left his earthly home Tuesday October 21, 2025, at the Irvine Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness. Bobby was a lifetime resident of Estill Co where he was born to Raymond and Mayfra Isaacs. Bobby enjoyed his family, going to numerus churches in the area, he was a board member of the Wagersville community Pentecostal church of God, he also loved hunting, fishing, and anything outdoors. He is survived by two sons Christopher Epperson SR (Cindy), Josh Isaacs (Crystal), one daughter Jessica Jones, the mother of his children Debbie Isaacs, one sister Gwen Hager (David), eight grandchildren Joshua (Chugger JR), Makynley Isaacs, Joslynn Isaacs, Gunner Isaacs, Sarah Carrol (Tyler), Destiny Isaacs, Dimitri Isaacs, Montanna Jones, two great grandchildren Isabella Carrol, Christopher ( Bennie) Epperson III, a very special friend Larry Norton as well as a host of nieces and nephews and friends to morn his passing. He is survived by his wife Wanda Horn, a son Kelby Horn (Amy Morris), four daughters Salena Munday (Matthew), Tabatha Nutt (Mike), Michelle Mathers (Jermey), Sandra Cook, Nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren, a brother Merle Horn, three sisters Brenda Norman, Faye Mayse and Gertrude Horn. He was born on June 9, 1955, in Hamilton, Ohio to the late Earl and Sarah Olinger Barnett, along with two brothers, Perry Barnett and Steve Barnett and one sister, Lisa Powell. Dwight is survived by his loving wife , Judy Barnett; two sons, Aaron (Dana) Stone of Clay City and Shane Stone of Clay City; one daughter Jeanette Lagace of Heath, Ohio and the following grandchildren, Lydia Stone, Olivia Stone, Zoey Stone, Sadie Stone, Leah Stone, Ashley Pelfrey, Dalton Howard, Lance Howard, and Jackson Everman; and one sister, Anita Easter of Estill County, Kentucky.
