All the time, I am asked how I got into doing massage. My path has definitely been unique. I hurt my back in the military over 20 years ago and spent a lot of my 20s not doing many physical things. I had tried a lot of things, including Yoga, but everything seemed to hurt my back more. It wasn’t until I was “forced” to go to a Kundalini Yoga class that I had my first morning after something physically intense, without being in pain. As a matter of fact, my back felt better!
I began practicing Kundalini Yoga several times a week and throughout my entire 2nd pregnancy. I ended up taking Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training, and it was during the anatomy and physiology portion that it all clicked for me. I was in training with a lot of dancers that already knew the muscles and the body so everyone really laughed about how surprised I was. Seeing how everything was connected and intertwined really made an impact for me. It was then that I knew I wanted to learn more and ultimately ended up in massage school.
Not only did Kundalini bring me peace in my body, it brought me peace in my mind. My ability to act and not react, my ability to stay calm in stressful situations, being able to grow and learn from my mistakes, I attribute to Kundalini Yoga, and the philosophies and smalls way you can to integrate the practice into your daily life.
I am so excited to have an afternoon to share this amazing practice with you.
I will be sharing a lot of these small tips and tricks that you can use in your daily life. We will also end with a gong bath to reset the nervous system and leave you feeling refreshed and energized!
