My Practice

My therapy specialties include trauma, domestic violence and abuse, women’s issues, couples counseling, depression and anxiety. I work with adults individually, couples, and teens. I help couples look for and find ways to resolve conflicts, although I am not an Enrichment counselor. I am a licensed attorney and taught law at SLU Law School, as a Public Defender and worked with many nonprofit organizations.

When you find a counselor you connect with, your relationship is a safe place where you feel heard and affirmed. Your counselor helps you identify what you are looking for, and how to find that. I believe that good counseling blends a knowledge of psychology, analytical skill and intuition--with not a small dose of affection, humor, and fun. My style is direct and I see my clients through to their goals. I don’t encourage anyone to pursue counseling without seeing results.

My therapy techniques are tailored to my clients’ unique personality and needs. While my intensive training is in trauma treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy and domestic violence, I am a generalist and draw from broad training in many therapy models. I have seen many clients overcome self-doubt, establish a positive self-image and make profound changes in their lives. Others have gained insight that leads them to make meaningful changes.

When the therapeutic relationship works well, immense changes are inevitable. Please don’t hesitate to contact me for an initial phone consultation free of charge.
