⚓ Planning to join the U.S. Coast Guard or become a Merchant Mariner? You’ll likely need a Coast Guard medical exam (CG-719K) to get your Mariner Medical Certificate.

This physical checks your overall health, agility, vision, hearing, and more to ensure you're fit for duty. A drug test is also required.

🕒 The exam takes about 30–45 minutes, and results are usually ready the same day. Drug test results take about two business days.
💳 Depending on your coverage, you may be required to self-pay, so bring cash or a card.
🛳️ After your exam, email your paperwork to MEDAIP@uscg.mil and apply at least 90 days in advance.

Did you know that you can get tetanus from more than just an old rusty nail?
