Important Message : As a land steward, educator, advocate and community herbalist I am deeply rooted in the practices of
💚 Care as Currency

🫜 Increasing the Rad: access to food, medicine, relational healing and nourishment

⚡️Decreasing the suck: building into networks of care that grow and sustain our interdependence and lived experiences of wellness

This means that regardless of, and most often in spite of, barriers to care that include poor leadership, false information, betrayal, confusion and overwhelm - I am Here: with an established body of work that endures through hardship and conflict to care for Earth and The People.

I’ve spent the first 8 years of Meraki Farmacy in service to my direct community and the last 3 building meaningful relationships through in person events throughout central and western PA.

Being one of your care providers for your children and parents, through death and grief, through birth and joy, through cancer and chronic illness, through all stages - seasons and reasons, is a sincerely serious honor that I joyfully accept in devotion and dedication.

No body is going to change that.

I will be at Ligonier Country Market to continue to serve families, celebrate farmers, support craft and culture keepers, and otherwise continue to feed each other, literally and relationally.

I will be at several in person events this season, including offerings classes during Curwensville’s Blueberry Festival, Calhoun Farm Fest, and teaching with 2 different herb schools. We are scheduling for mobile Meraki classroom, Tea Times for weekdays all summer and weekends in July and August! All of everything is on merakifarmacy.com 🏹

Breaking News from the Frog Pool!

Right on time, about 3 -4 weeks since the Wood Frogs courted around and mated for days 😀🐸 and leaving a fat sack of frog eggs, which we noticed dissipated maybe almost 2 weeks ago,
Auntie Bull Frog holding it down with a new log and finally some Plants,
After lots of rain and prolonged cold nights, even freezing temperatures and loss of fruit buds and another shake of the senses of securities,
WE HAVE BB FROGS / POLLIWOGS!

And 2 happy Elderberry bushes, Valerian, Mints and pots awaiting end of May Flowers and sowing of sun flowers,

Returning Nesting Robins, Cardinals and new this year, Sparrows and BROAD WINGED HAWK considering us for best sites

And some classes booked for May,
And figuring out splitting time at another farm,
Still spending most of my time observing, perceiving, integrating, trying to share these things with you,

Because it’s really amazing. And I am so blessed / content with how I can continue my paths,
And what a special thing it is to so often long to share it with you.

Cause it’s all about the relationships.

No two herbalists are the same, nor should /could they be!

But all herbalists share the same Foundations of Practice; skills, knowledge, experience and Ethics. It is a focus area of mine. Over the last few years more folks recognize the importance, value and need for my kind of programs, and invite me into their communities.

Is there any bigger flex than continuing to earn Trust, across generations, place and space, and needs? I don't think so.

I am proud. And I know my ancestors are proud, too.

I just submitted my outline for my Radicle Herbalism class as guest teacher at Northern Appalachia School's Foundations of Bioregional Herbalism program! I am teaching this in September and am so excited for continued opportunities to bring my specialized skills into different communities of learners!

And it has me wanting to remind you of the incredible, in person, experiential learning that I have the honor of providing since the 1990's . . . .

And I will always be long form because I respect your intelligence, and our relationship!

TWO herb farms providing education, skill sharing and community care in Clearfield ?! This is amazing!

I had the joyous opportunity to bring my program “Embodied Discovery” for a women’s group hosted at QC back in 2023 and know so many people - generations! Are grateful for the experiential learning provided by so many talented folks over the years, and this kind of continuity is amazing.

There are so many barrier for us all to have the lived experiences in community of nourishment and stewardship. I am so excited to see this work continued and proud to be a steward, farmer and care provider in a growing network of devoted folks!

Clearfield should be known for its relationships with the environment, and caring for one another while caring for Land. This is beautiful and exciting!

I am so grateful and thrilled to share with you something so special . . . .

I work with Dandylion in their fullness in a lot of ways at Meraki Farmacy, growing them wild all over the farm, always organic, respectful and responsible. We work with all parts of this amazing plant in topical, tisane and tincture forms. They arrive after the coltsfoot and usually alongside beloved Violets. Every year Spring is a big celebration, but this season has been extra special!

Last Autumn I met Melody @ and we talked about craftsmanship, quality botanicals, and potentials for collaboration. When she reached out this early Spring to ask about working together, it was a very easy YES!

It was truly an adventure to hand pick, at the best times (for quality, for pollinators, for chaotic weather, for ethics of practice), tons of Dandelion flowers for the farmacy AND for Space Time Mead and Cider Works for their Dandelion Mead!

The greatest honor of all aspects of my work (stewardship, therapeutics, education) is TRUST! I love working with other herbalists, farmers, teachers, artists - crafts people - especially in Pennsylvania, particularly so close to my hometown.

It has been so exciting to be a part of this, and I can't wait to taste the Mead that we supported with happy, healthy, wild, beloved Flowers of the Dandy Lion from Meraki Farmacy!
