At Hendershot Wellness Center, we have always made an effort to support our community beyond healthcare — including offering a free clothing closet and maintaining a back entrance for convenience.

Unfortunately, due to repeated misuse of these resources, including the recent theft of a dolly from our facility, we are making immediate changes.

Effective immediately:

The back entrance will be closed

The free clothing closet will be closed until further notice

In addition, please be aware that security cameras are now in place throughout the premises.
We are currently in the process of reviewing video footage related to the theft.

If the individual responsible returns the item promptly and comes forward, we are willing to resolve the matter privately.

Otherwise, once footage is confirmed, we will be proceeding with filing a police report and pressing charges for theft.

We do not take these steps lightly. However, continued misuse and disregard for our property and services leaves us with no other choice.

We appreciate the many members of our community who have shown respect and support. This decision is not a reflection of you, but of repeated actions that cannot continue.

At Hendershot Wellness Center, we take pride in supporting our community beyond medical care.

We have offered a change container to assist patients with parking and a free clothing closet for those in need as acts of courtesy and goodwill — not obligation.

Unfortunately, these resources have recently been misused and disrespected, including the theft of our change container and repeated disregard for the condition of our clothing room.

This behavior is unacceptable.

Let us be clear: These services will only remain available if they are respected and used appropriately.

If misuse, theft, or damage continues, we will take necessary action — including discontinuing these services and involving local law enforcement if warranted.

We are committed to helping those in need, but we will not allow generosity to be taken advantage of.
We appreciate those in our community who continue to act with respect and integrity. That is what allows us to provide these resources in the first place.
