Members of our Community Health team participated in the annual Point-in-Time (PIT) Count, a one-night census conducted each January to better understand homelessness in our community. The count includes individuals who are sheltered in emergency or transitional housing, as well as those who are unsheltered and living on the streets or in vehicles. This data is critical for securing federal funding, guiding local resource allocation, and measuring progress toward ending homelessness. We are proud of our team for their commitment to serving our community and supporting this important effort.

It was an absolute joy to reunite our Christmas miracle baby with the first responders and medical staff who helped save his life. On Christmas Day 2024, baby JJ was rushed to the hospital after being born prematurely at just 22 weeks. With the odds stacked heavily against him, this little fighter defied expectations thanks to the extraordinary efforts of many heroes, including CAL FIRE, CAL FIRE San Luis Obispo Unit, San Luis Ambulance, Inc., and our ER and NICU teams at Adventist Health Sierra Vista. Today, JJ is healthy, thriving, and has just celebrated his first birthday. Thank you to everyone who played a role in JJ's remarkable journey.
