We should all have a fire extinguisher somewhere in our home. If there is a fire your safety, your family's safety, and the safety of your home depends on knowing how to properly use a fire extinguisher.

Just Remember PASS
P: Pull the pin on the fire extinguisher
A: Aim the nozzle
S: Squeeze the handle to discharge the extinguisher
S: Sweep the nozzle side to side

Before operating a fire extinguisher, make sure you have a clear evacuation route.

Being safe while skiing/snowboarding on mountains is crucial, especially in high-traffic ski areas, and more back woodsy places without cell signals. Here are some tips for hitting the slopes this winter:

Always stay in control.
People ahead of you have the right of way.
Stop in a safe place for you and others.
Whenever starting downhill or merging, look uphill and yield.
Use your devices to help prevent runaway equipment.
Observe signs and warnings, and keep off closed trails.
Know how to use the lifts safely.

When there's ice on the ground, there's an increase risk of falls. You could easily end up with a sprain, strain, or broken bone. Here's what todo if you or someone you're with has a fall:

Sprains and Strains: If your fall has lead to a strained muscle or sprained ligament, the best course of action is to follow the acronym RICE- Rest, Ice, Compress, and Elevate.

Broken Bones: If you felt or heard a "pop" when you slipped, if the injured area is numb, or if you can't put weight on it, you may have a fractured or broken bone. Seek medical attention immediately.
