This week, we’re shining a light on another incredible team supporting cardiac care at CCC – our Nuclear Medicine & EKG specialists.

These experts perform diagnostic tests that give our physicians a clear picture of your heart’s health. An EKG records your heart’s electrical activity, while nuclear medicine uses a small amount of a safe radioactive substance to show how well blood is pumping and detect possible damage, blockages, or inflammation.

We’re grateful for the knowledge and compassion this team brings to patient care every day. Join us in thanking them for all they do!

Please join us in welcoming Dr. John Cochran to CCC!

A Houston native, Dr. Cochran brings extensive training in cardiology and electrophysiology, including fellowships at Baylor Heart and Vascular Hospital and the Smidt Heart Institute at Cedars Sinai.

He is board certified in internal medicine, echocardiography, and cardiovascular diseases, and is excited to care for patients with heart rhythm conditions using the latest innovations in electrophysiology.

We’re thrilled to have him on our team and serving our community! Help us give a warm welcome to Dr. Cochran.

Welcome to our newest cardiologist, Dr. Joseph Nowatzke!

Originally from Ohio, Dr. Nowatzke earned his medical degree from Central Michigan University College of Medicine and went on to complete his cardiology fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He brings expertise in advanced cardiac imaging — including echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, CT, and vascular imaging — along with specialized training in cardio-oncology (heart care for cancer patients).

We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Nowatzke, his wife, and their daughter to Florida and to our CCC family!

Meet Andrea Brunelli, Supervisor of our Echo and Vascular Department and one of our longest-serving employees.

Andrea began her career as an EKG tech, and with encouragement from Dr. Lucarella, she returned to school to become an ultrasound sonographer. She joined CCC in 1997 in that role and has been with us ever since, dedicating nearly three decades to helping diagnose cardiovascular disease and supporting our physicians and patients.

Originally from Boston, Andrea grew up cheering on the Red Sox (yes, that's Fenway) before moving to Florida in her teens. She now enjoys hiking, kayaking, and rooting for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

She’s also a proud dog mom to Brady, who of course, was named after Tom Brady. Brady loves to play catch and never turns down a treat.

What keeps her here after all these years? “The friendships I’ve made, not only with the physicians and staff, but also with the patients.”

As we celebrate 50 years of CCC, we’re proud to honor Andrea and her dedication. Thank you, Andrea, for all you do!
