“ I have been dealing with OCD, PTSD, Depression, and everything that comes with it. The battle to even get out of bed and take a shower or even go to the pharmacy to get cold medicine.. Things that to someone else might seem like an errand, but to someone like me, it’s more like a challenge. I have been doing ketamine for almost a year and a half.
I am 100% mentally disabled through the VA and Social Security. That means that I look ok, but I am not, and that’s hard for people to comprehend. But ketamine has given me the courage, the confidence and peace that I needed, to be able to communicate with my family details that otherwise would haunt me and I would rather keep locked inside. I don’t know how it works, but I promise you it works. It doesn’t just mask it or temporarily fixes it. It makes it to where I can actually be me, the mom, the daughter, the wife, the good neighbor.
I asked myself, would I rather survive and battle my own brain everyday, or would I rather just give ketamine a try and see how it goes. What’s the worst that can happen? It doesn’t work? But I took a chance and I have not once regretted it. All I know is that it helped me and I can be the best version of myself for my children and my family.
The nurses and doctors at FSI are also a big part of the process because I trust them with my life, my fears, my demons. They are not only professionals, but they are amazing human beings. Thank you to the entire staff at FSI for giving me my smile back.” -Ruth B.
