Our goal is top notch care for families using today’s cutting edge methods The Gulf Coast Animal Hospital (later renamed the Veterinary Hospital of Clearwater) was opened by Dr. Steadman Carr in 1958, in response to a need for a quality, full service veterinary care facility serving the greater Clearwater, Dunedin, Safety Harbor area. At that time US 19 and State Road 580 (Main Street) were just two lanes each. There was just an empty field where the Countryside Mall now stands across from our hospital. Dr. Carr's ideals were Top notch veterinary care on the cutting edge in an animal hospital where you are treated like family. Those ideals have continued with Dr. Bendit and our staff. These are just some of the reasons caring pet owners have chosen us since 1958 and why their children continue to make us their family veterinarian.

Sorry it took so long to post to Facebook. We currently don’t have power at the animal hospital. Without power we have no lights, refrigeration for vaccines and meds such as insulin. We also don’t have phone or computer services. Please bear with us, we will open as soon as power is restored. Thanks for your understanding.
