..And yes it’s important...But here’s the truth:

💡 Methylation is not the most important genes, by itself.

It’s a symphony of dozens of genes that regulate detoxification, hormones, neurotransmitters, inflammation, and energy production.

If you focus only on MTHFR, you’re seeing one instrument in an entire orchestra.

I had been working with this woman for about three months. She was making progress, but she was convinced that something deeper was still going on.

One day she came in and told me, very confidently, that she knew the problem was H. pylori. She was sure of it because she had “that same feeling” years ago, and back then another doctor told her it was H. Pylori.

I gently explained that based on everything we’d seen so far, it didn’t look like H. pylori at all. But she insisted. So, to ease her mind, I ordered the test.

When the results came back, they were completely normal. Not a trace of H. Pylori, infection, or stomach acid, problem of any kind.

When I shared the news, the screen information completely backfired!

She was furious!😡
.. and instead of saying wow Dr. Lori you’re brilliant, you actually were right and it isn’t H pylori. I’m so glad! Thank you so much...

Just because you’re thin, doesn’t mean you’re healthy.

A lean body can look healthy, but true wellness is measured by how your organs, cells, and systems are functioning. Dysfunction can quietly progress for years before symptoms ever appear.

Did you ever know a woman who:
"All of a sudden” got diagnosed with cancer?

I often give patients completely opposite advice.😮

Why?

Because I understand biochemistry, physiology, and the 6 levels of health loss.

Most people only look at symptoms...I look at regulation.

I look at what your cells are doing, how deep the imbalance has gone, and which systems are still capable of repair.

Once you see the level, you know what to do and....you know what not to do.
👉That is the part almost everyone misses.

Let’s look at the six levels of health loss through the lens of physiology, biochemistry, and laboratory science.

⚙️ Level 1️⃣

Regulation is altered, but structure remains normal. The hypothalamus, pituitary, and adrenals are slightly misfiring, and mitochondria are inefficient.

The wrong thing to do is:
Detox, fast, or use aggressive supplements. The body needs regulation, not stimulation.

The right thing to do is:
Reestablish rhythm. Support minerals, hydration, sleep, blood sugar, and mitochondrial cofactors. Strengthen the nervous system before deeper interventions.

The lab levels that confirm this:
• Organic Acids: low citrate, mild lactate rise, low alpha-ketoglutarate
• Cortisol rhythm: slightly flattened curve
• Metabolomix+: low B2, B3, B6, low glutathione
• Amino acids: low tyrosine or tryptophan

🔥 Level 2️⃣

The immune system has now entered the conversation. Cytokines rise, Phase I liver enzymes accelerate, and oxidative stress begins.

The wrong thing to do is:
Suppress inflammation, fast aggressively, or force calorie restriction.

The right thing to do is:
Modulate inflammation. Open drainage, support the liver, provide antioxidants, and reduce immune load.

The lab levels that confirm this:
• hs-CRP 1–3 mg/L
• Ferritin elevated or fluctuating
• Homocysteine 9–11 µmol/L
• GI Effects: elevated sIgA or mild dysbiosis
• Lipid peroxides and 8-OHdG trending up

🩸 Level 3️⃣

The body begins to store what it cannot clear. Detox slows, bile thickens, and lymph stagnates.

The wrong thing to do is:
Push detox or weight loss. The routes of elimination are blocked.

The right thing to do is:
Drain before detox. Support bile flow, conjugation, hydration, and minerals. Open liver, kidneys, and lymph.

The lab levels that confirm this:
• GGT > 25 U/L
• ALT or AST high-normal
• Beta-glucuronidase elevated
• RBC glutathione low
• Zinc, selenium, magnesium low

⚖️ Level 4️⃣

The disturbance is now inside the cells. Membrane transport and mitochondrial respiration weaken.

The wrong thing to do is:
Detox aggressively, fast, or over-exercise. The cell cannot generate enough ATP to process toxins.

The right thing to do is:
Rebuild cell membranes, restore mitochondrial cofactors, rebalance thyroid and adrenal communication, and repair intracellular signaling.

The lab levels that confirm this:
• CoQ10 and carnitine low
• Succinate and malate low on Organic Acids
• Flattened cortisol, low DHEA
• Free T3 low, reverse T3 high
• ATP ratio low on mitochondrial testing

💔 Level 5️⃣

Enzymatic systems are failing, connective tissue is deteriorating, and structural integrity is compromised.

The wrong thing to do is:
Chase symptoms or stimulate metabolism with hormones or extreme diets.

The right thing to do is:
Rebuild. Provide amino acids, minerals, enzymes, and antioxidants. Support connective tissue and restore protein synthesis.

The lab levels that confirm this:
• Persistent AST/ALT elevation
• LDH > 180 U/L
• Albumin < 4 g/dL
• Elevated BUN and creatinine
• Oxidized LDL, high Lp(a), low HDL-P
• Global amino acid depletion

🧬 Level 6️⃣

Regulation is lost. DNA repair and methylation fail. The body’s control systems are disorganized.

The wrong thing to do is:
Use aggressive detox or high-intensity therapies. The terrain cannot handle the stress.

The right thing to do is:
Restore the terrain gently. Support methylation, oxygenation, antioxidants, immune surveillance, and mitochondrial biogenesis.

The lab levels that confirm this:
• Elevated 8-OHdG (DNA damage)
• Low SAMe, high SAH
• Elevated NF-κB, TNF-α, VEGF
• Glutathione peroxidase and catalase low
• Mitochondrial DNA mutations or deletions present

You’ve been told your whole life that carbohydrates are your body’s best source of energy.

That’s the foundation of almost every diet, food label, gym instructor's, and health coach's opinion for the last 50 years.

But here’s the truth that changes everything:
Easiest and best are not the same.

Carbs are the easiest fuel to burn, but they are not the best.

And that single lie has created generations of people running on sugar highs and energy crashes.

👇 Let’s talk biochemistry, not marketing.

Yes it was a marketing campaign. (Research the big cereal and candy companies)

🧪 Here’s what they didn't want you to know:

Your cells need glucose, but you don’t need to eat it.

Your body is brilliantly designed to make all the glucose it needs through a process called gluconeogenesis, using amino acids from protein and glycerol from fat.

In other words:
👉 Your body can make its own sugar, naturally and efficiently, without needing constant carbs from your plate.

Carbs are simply the quickest fuel to burn, not the cleanest, not the longest-lasting, and definitely not the most stable.
• They spike blood sugar.
• They trigger insulin surges.
• They leave you dependent on your next “fix.”

You were taught that because carbs are easy to burn, they must be the best energy source.

You probably thought you were doing everything right. You cut the bread, skipped the pasta, read every label like a detective, and yet the bloating, fatigue, or brain fog still lingered.

💔 I see it all the time. Women who work so hard to heal, but still don’t feel well.

They think it must be something else: hormones, thyroid, stress.
But when we look deeper in the lab, something subtle but powerful shows up.

🔥The problem isn’t just gluten...
It’s actually the molecular structure of ALL GRAINS that's the problem.

Because even the “gluten-free” grains can still inflame your gut, spike insulin, and block nutrient absorption, especially if your intestinal lining is already compromised.

When traditional business experts look at how I run my practice, they often cringe. They see a structure that doesn’t fit into their predictable business formulas.

👉Because this isn’t about sales. It’s about healing.

And that requires something entirely different.

The truth is, the normal business model doesn’t belong here. You can’t apply the same system that sells lipstick or gym memberships to something as personal and sacred as the human body.

Those strategies rely on urgency, scarcity, and pressure.

👉What I do is built on CONNECTION, education, and trust.

And here’s the heart of it all:

👉Healing isn’t a transaction. It’s a RELATIONSHIP.

❌I don’t follow up if someone doesn’t sign up for a program. I don’t chase, I don’t pressure, and I don’t send a string of reminders or “last chance” messages.

I had a patient who was in her early 40s, a successful, intelligent woman who had done everything right.

She ate clean, exercised regularly, drank filtered water, and bought the expensive skincare lines.

But her face told another story. Deep, painful cystic acne along her jawline and neck, inflamed patches that would not heal, and scars that seemed to linger for months.

She told me, “Everyone keeps saying it’s hormonal. I’ve tried every supplement and detox program out there. Nothing works.”

And she was right, because it was not hormonal, at least not in the way she thought.

👩‍⚕️ We started with advanced functional lab tests, not just basic bloodwork, and it completely revealed what is really happening at the cellular level. And what we found explained everything.

🔬LAB FINDINGS:
