"A number of studies in the last 15 years, including our own work, have suggested that pets in the home, especially dogs, seem to lower the risk for allergic disorders," said Lynch.

Why? Dog-owning residences appear to host a greater diversity of bacteria and fewer types of fungus, the study authors said.

"This raises the possibility that early life exposure to dog-associated microbes during the critical period of microbiome development may promote appropriate microbiome development," Lynch added.
"And it suggests that perhaps one of the issues, at least in western societies, is that the environment in early life as actually too clean, which could be why previous studies have also shown that having pets, as well as siblings, may be protective against allergies and asthma," he said.

History repeats itself, right? These shameful practices continue today.

There's so much corruption that I wrote an entire book about it: Feeding You Lies. Perhaps you’ve read it, and if so, none of this is new information to you. The industry has been using paid messengers in the name of “science” for decades.

I don’t blindly trust anyone to tell me how to take care of my health. I question where information is coming from and if it can be trusted. Being a credentialed expert doesn’t automatically mean someone has integrity and hasn’t been “bought”.

Someone once said “A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes.” It’s often hard to figure out the facts. However, when it comes to your health, it’s absolutely worth investing the extra effort to determine what’s real and what’s not.

At the end of the day, it’s nobody else’s responsibility to tell you what’s true. You alone are responsible for the news you consume. If you want to be healthy—and don’t we all?—determining what is good for you is imperative. We must take control!

I’ve made it my job to empower people. I want to empower YOU to look after your health. I want to empower EVERYONE.
