Turmeric: The Black Pepper Connection and Anti-Inflammatory Properties

Turmeric is a spice that has garnered great interest in the scientific and medical world for it's anti-inflammatory properties. The active ingredient in Turmeric is Curcumin, which can help manage oxidative stress and subsequently combat inflammation. Other benefits include improvements in metabolic syndrome, arthritis, anxiety, and high cholesterol.

However, despite the purported benefits, the bioavailability of curcumin is poor. This means that despite consumption, it's difficult for the body to absorb and metabolize it, preventing the body from reaping it's benefits.

That's where the black pepper comes in! One of the active components of black pepper is bioperine which is shown to significantly increase the bioavailability of tumeric/curcumin!

Ask your healthcare provider if Turmeric is right for you!

Vitamin D deficiency is one of the most common vitamin deficiencies in the US, with up to 35% of US adults being deficient.

Vitamin D deficiency has negative affects on bone health and may contribute to the development of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, autoimmunity, and cancer.

Vitamin D helps keep our bones strong, decreasing the risk of fractures. Similarly, it is associated with improvements and prevention in neurologic diseases like multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's, and Parkinson's disease
