The Center for Neurosomatic Studies (CNS) Apply Now: cns.edu The originators of NST, Paul St.

John and Randall Clark, have been educating professionals through seminars, scientific publications, and speaking events for years. The therapy methods have been so successful that there is a shortage of highly trained therapists to treat patients suffering from pain syndromes. CNS responds to this need by providing a comprehensive program that allows students to work while preparing for their new career through a combination of lecture, hands-on practice, clinical practice, and community outreach. The faculty members of CNS bring their expertise in NST and proven instruction methods together to provide a one-of-a-kind educational experience.

At the Center for Neurosomatic Studies,
our Somatic Therapy program teaches you to:

• Understand how dysfunction develops
• Identify neuromuscular patterns
• Apply targeted, effective treatment
• Think beyond technique

This is a different level of training.

If you’re ready to build a deeper understanding of the body--the Next Class Starts: May 4th

The body adapts to how it’s used.

Over time:
Function shapes structure
& Structure dictates function

Which means:
If structure is off…
function is off, which leads to pain.

Somatic Therapy addresses both structure and function.

If structure reflects function… what does your assessment reveal?

👉 Learn how to analyze it:

Assessment changes everything.

When you can identify:
• what’s causing the distortion
• what’s maintaining it
• how the body is compensating

You stop guessing.

And start solving.

Assessment changes everything.

Neurosomatic Therapy isn’t about chasing symptoms.

It’s about understanding:
• movement
• structure
• compensation
• neuromuscular patterns

So treatment becomes intentional.

This is what it looks like to think differently.

Asymmetry in the face tells the whole body's story.

Cranial tension is more common than you think — and more treatable than most expect.

The epicranial fascia can become ischemic from trauma, chronic stress, or trigger point overflow — contributing directly to craniofacial asymmetry, headaches, and restricted jaw movement.

Our Integrative Cranial Balancing protocol addresses:
→ Sphenobasilar mobilization
→ Temporal, frontal, and maxillary imbalances
→ Sacroiliac-cranial reflex patterns (Lovett Reactor)

When the cranium balances, the whole postural chain responds.

Pain doesn’t always originate where it’s felt.

The body compensates.

And those compensations can shift stress
far away from the original dysfunction.

That’s why symptom-based treatment often falls short.

If you’ve ever felt like something was being missed…

Concentric vs Eccentric

Not all muscles behave the same way.

Some muscles create distortion.
Others limit it.

Understanding the difference is critical.

Because treating the wrong side of that equation can slow progress… or stop it completely.

All muscles behave differently in dysfunction.

👉 Learn how to identify the difference:

While it can happen muscles aren’t usually either “on” or “off.”

They exist in a constant state of tonus — a low-level contraction that maintains posture.

When abnormal posture is maintained, due to imbalance or compensation patterns, tonus can increase in some muscles.

And increased tonus leads to:
• ischemia
• trigger points
• restricted movement

Understanding why tension exists changes how you treat it.

The body doesn’t randomly develop dysfunction.

Muscles adapt to:
• posture
• stress
• injury
• repetition

Over time, those adaptations become patterns.

And those patterns create pain.

Most people treat symptoms.

A few learn how to understand the system.

Which one are you?

Temporary relief can feel like an April Fools joke.

Because if the underlying pattern isn’t addressed,
the body will return to the same dysfunction.

Fix the structure and you'll fix the dysfunction.

Why does pain keep coming back…
even after treatment?

You stretched it.
You worked on it.
You rested it.

And yet… it returns.

What if the problem isn’t what you’re doing—
but what you’re missing?
