10/29/2025

For the last installment of our series, we are focusing on YOU. Fall is a season of transition, and one that comes before the Holiday season, which can be a trigger for individuals. So today, we want to make sure you **fall** into your self-care 🍂

This season is your gentle reminder: slowing down is not the same as falling behind.
Autumn is nature’s way of letting go — and you’re allowed to do the same.

If you’ve been feeling tired, unmotivated, or emotionally drained lately, you’re not alone. The shift in seasons can impact our energy and mood more than we realize.

That’s why being intentional with self-care is so important right now. 🧡

Here are a few fall-inspired ways to care for your mental health this November and beyond:

🍁 Take a slow walk through crunchy leaves and unplug for a bit — no distractions!
🍵 Make a warm drink and actually sit down to enjoy it
📖 Read something just for fun (no pressure to “be productive”)
🕯️ Light a cozy candle and journal your thoughts
🧤 Swap out scrolling for hands-on activities — baking, crafting, decorating, etc.
📅 Set gentle boundaries around your time + energy as the holidays approach

Self-care doesn’t have to be complicated; it just needs to be intentional. Even the smallest moments can ground you.

What’s one thing you’re doing for yourself this fall? 👇 Drop it in the comments and let’s build a list of cozy, calming ideas together.

And if this resonates with you, share it to your story or send it to someone who could use a reminder to care for themselves too 📲

You are worthy of care, rest, and peace — today, tomorrow, and every day after that. Self-care matters when we are well AND when we are not.

To prepare, we recommend that community members use www.findhelp.org. You can enter your zip code, then click on food to find food pantries in your specific zip code and get a full list of pantries in your area. Users can also find free or reduced-cost resources like housing, financial assistance, health care, and more.

As always, you can dial 211 or call our information and resource helpline at 727-791-3434 to access additional help. We are in this together 💚

Search and connect to support. Find financial assistance, food pantries, medical care, and other free or reduced-cost help in your area, anywhere in the US.

10/22/2025

One of the most uplifting forms of self-care is giving yourself something to look forward to. Whether it’s a weekend coffee date, a trip you’ve been dreaming about, or even a cozy movie night at home — having a plan in place can brighten your mood long before the day arrives.

When life feels heavy or the days start to blur together, knowing there’s a moment of joy on the horizon can give you that little push to keep going. The best part? The benefits begin now—the simple act of anticipating something enjoyable boosts dopamine, the brain’s “feel-good” chemical, before the event even happens.

Benefits for your mental health:

Boosts motivation & energy – something fun on the calendar gives you a reason to keep moving forward.
Builds emotional resilience – anticipation can soften the weight of daily stress.
Lifts your mood – planning releases feel-good brain chemicals even before the event.
Strengthens relationships – shared activities help deepen social connections.
Encourages balance – reminds you to make time for joy, not just responsibilities.

💡 Try this today: Open your calendar and add one thing you’re excited about this week or month. Big or small, near or far; just make sure it’s something that feels like a treat to your mind and heart.

What’s something you’re looking forward to right now? Comment below and share this post to inspire someone else to add a little joy to their calendar today. 🗣️
