This , think of your day like a beautiful story. Every book needs a strong opening and a gentle closing, and so does your mind. 📚️

Morning Meditation is your opening chapter 📖✨

It sets the tone before the rush begins, helping you start with calm, clarity, and intention. It’s your mental warm-up; reducing anxiety, boosting focus, and inviting mindful choices into the hours ahead.

Evening Meditation is your closing chapter 📕🌙

It helps you release the day’s stress, quiet the noise, and prepare your mind for deep rest. It’s your mental cool-down; easing tension, processing emotions, and ending the day with peace and gratitude.

When you use meditation as the “bookends” of your day, you give your mind the gift of a thoughtful beginning and a gentle ending — no matter what happens in between.

Do you meditate in the morning, evening… or both? 💭

Last week, our Deputy Director Camille Hebting had the opportunity to meet with Senator Ed Hooper to share NAMI Pinellas County’s Annual Impact Report and discuss how we can continue working together to support individuals and families impacted by mental illness.

Advocacy is a vital part of our mission—we strive to ensure that mental health remains a priority in our community and for our legislators. Creating and fostering relationships with elected officials at all levels of government is only one of the ways we ensure that people know about the free education, support, and resources that our local NAMI affiliate provides.

Together, we can create a community where no one walks alone on their mental health journey. 💚

Happy ! 💌

When was the last time you paused to tell yourself how deeply you’re loved?

We so often pour our hearts into supporting others: lifting them up, reminding them of their worth, etc. Yet we sometimes forget that we deserve those same words of kindness. Today, let’s turn that love inward!

We invite you to write a love letter to YOU.

Gentle, heartfelt words from the kindest part of you… to the only person who has walked with you through every season of life: yourself.

You may want to include:

💗 Moments you’re proud of — no matter how small.
💗 Acknowledgement of the challenges you’ve met with courage.
💗 Gratitude for the way you keep showing up, even on hard days.
💗 Reminders of the qualities that make you uniquely you.
💗 Soft encouragement for the road ahead.

Write it by hand, tuck it somewhere special, or email it to your future self. On the days you need it most, it will be there — a reminder that you are, and always have been, worthy of love and compassion.

Because the relationship you have with yourself is the one you carry through every chapter of your life… and it deserves tenderness.

We’d love to know — if you wrote yourself a love letter today, what’s one thing you would say?🖊

CONGRATULATIONS to our latest crop of Peers in Recovery Mentorship Program graduates 👏🎉

After 4 days of in-person training last week for NAMI Peer-to-Peer and Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP), they participated in one-to-one coaching for NAMI In Our Own Voice training last Friday, and completed the series with NAMI Connection Support Group training yesterday and today.

These individuals are now equipped with the tools they need to get well, stay well, and support others in that pursuit. They will be able to use the techniques they learned and their lived experience to inspire countless peers who need support to move forward in their recovery. How inspiring! 💚

A BIG thank you goes out to BayCare for sponsoring this training. Their generous funding is what makes this program FREE to individuals in Pinellas County.

Interested? We will be hosting another series in late October. Check it out here: https://namipinellas.volunteerhub.com/vv2/event/f52f056b-b28f-48e2-ada0-308a2e1a122d

Another week, another . And today, we're reminding you that we're here for you!

Life feels lighter when you don’t carry it alone. Support groups bring together people who truly understand what you’re going through, because they’ve been there too. Whether you’re navigating mental health challenges, grief, recovery, or big life changes, connecting with others who “get it” can make a world of difference.

💡 Here’s why support groups matter:

You’re not alone. Hearing “I’ve felt that way too” reminds you your feelings are valid and shared.

You gain real tools. Members share coping strategies and resources you might not have discovered on your own.

It’s a safe space. You can speak openly without fear of judgment or stigma.

You find encouragement. Watching others grow can inspire you to keep going.

You build community. Friendships often form that extend far beyond the group.

Not sure where to find these groups? Look no further! 🔎

At NAMI Pinellas, we offer free, confidential support groups led by trained facilitators with lived experience who understand the importance of peer connection. Whether you’re looking for a space to share your story or simply listen, our groups provide a welcoming environment to help you feel heard, supported, and empowered. 🌱

Sharing is caring—you might encourage someone else to take that first step. 💬

Summer is winding down, but our work certainly isn't. Today, we want to take a moment to officially celebrate and introduce the three new members of our Board of Directors, who began their service with NAMI Pinellas County on July 1, 2025.

Since stepping into their roles earlier this summer, they have already begun lending their leadership, expertise, and passion to furthering our mission of supporting individuals and families affected by mental health conditions.

Please join us in welcoming LaToya Lemons, Michael Fussner, and Amanda King!

You can read more about them on our LinkedIn post here: http://tiny.cc/2w9s001

We are deeply grateful for their commitment and excited about the vision they bring to our work. Here’s to the impact they will make together with our entire board and community! 👏

This , we're doing some digital cleaning! 📱✨

What you see every day shapes how you feel. Social media can be a source of connection, laughter, and inspiration—but it can also trigger comparison, self-doubt, or negativity if your feed is filled with accounts that drain you.

If you notice certain accounts leave you feeling anxious, inadequate, or overwhelmed, it’s okay to unfollow, mute, or hide them. Your mental well-being is more important than staying updated on every post. 💚

💡 Why this matters:

Constant exposure to unrealistic images and toxic content can erode self-esteem.

Negative or fear-driven content can raise stress levels and impact your mood.

Your attention is valuable—choose to give it to things that uplift and inspire you.

Try this mini-feed cleanse:
1️⃣ Scroll through your feed for 5–10 minutes.
2️⃣ Notice how each post makes you feel: lighter or heavier?
3️⃣ Keep the accounts that motivate, educate, or bring joy.
4️⃣ Unfollow, mute, or hide the ones that don’t.

Social media should be a tool that adds to your life, not something that drains your mental energy. You have the power to shape your online environment into one that supports your growth and peace of mind. 🌱

When was the last time you did a social media cleanse? Did it help your mental health? Share your experience below—we’d love to hear it! 💬
