Supporting a loved one with mental illness can be tough—it’s a journey filled with uncertainty, emotional ups and downs, and moments where you might feel helpless. But your support is incredibly valuable, and there are ways to make a positive difference.

Remember, healing takes time, and progress can be slow so be patient with yourself and your loved. Your compassion and understanding can make a huge difference in their journey. 💚

Dealing with chronic illness can be very isolating and support in your immediate area may be hard to find. The first few years of my SLE battle were so debilitating and no one around me understood.

I found connection and hope through a support group but getting there each month was extremely difficult, and at times impossible. I wish I had known about online resources such as the support group offered by I Aim Hope: A Chronic Illness Awareness Campaign back then. 🥄🥄🥄

In today's digital age, social media often bombards us with images and messages of productivity, achievement, and a grind-culture lifestyle. Whether it's someone sharing their latest workout routine, career milestone, or exotic travel adventure- it's easy to feel pressured to constantly be doing more. Grind-culture (including constant pressure towards self-improvement) can lead to feelings of inadequacy, stress, and anxiety.

Everyone has their own pace, and it's okay to slow down, rest, and prioritize your own well-being. Slowing down often feels counter-intuitive for trauma survivors or folks with anxiety. However, it is actually the fastest way to regulate your nervous system.

Perhaps today, instead of feeling pressured and rushed you can focus on what brings you joy, well-being, and peace.
