Today, we share the difficult news of the passing of Larry Philipson, a truly remarkable individual who embodied the heart and mission of The Arc Tampa Bay for the past 35 years.

Larry was a constant source of compassion, connection, and support. He had a rare gift for making people feel seen and heard. No matter how busy the day, Larry always made time to stop, check in, and genuinely ask how he could help. Every staff member knew him, and more importantly, felt valued by him.

Larry often began his days at the office around 4:00 a.m., driven by a deep sense of responsibility and care. He took immense pride in the buildings, ensuring that each space was safe, welcoming, and reflective of the dignity of those we serve.

His selflessness and dedication to others defined who he was. Larry consistently put people first, living out our mission not just in words, but through his everyday actions. He brought dedication, a tireless effort, and a sense of family to our organization that cannot be replaced.

The Arc Tampa Bay family has lost not only a team member, but the very heart of our organization. His impact will continue to be felt in the lives he touched and the culture he helped shape.

Larry will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

We had an absolute blast at our Easter Party at Phillipe Park! 🎉🐣 The day was filled with thrilling games, and the People First Easter egg hunt was undoubtedly the highlight of the event! 🥚💖 A massive shoutout goes to the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Temple Terrace/TPA4 for dedicating a day of service to make this day unforgettable. 🙌✨ We also want to extend a huge thank you to all the amazing volunteers who joined us and brought so much energy and joy to the festivities. 🌟🎈 What an incredible day of fun! 😄🎊

Our Arc Warriors put on an incredible show at the March Madness game! 🎉 It was a nail-biter the whole way through, with everyone sitting on the edge of their seats. 😱 In a thrilling finish, the Warriors clinched victory in the final minute! ⏱️ What an amazing performance! 🙌 A huge shoutout to all the fans who came out to cheer and make this day unforgettable. 👏 Great job, Arc Warriors! Let’s celebrate this fantastic win! 🏆🎊

A huge thank you to the awesome SPC Dental hygiene students for the fantastic hands-on presentation! 🎉 Everyone had such a fun time learning the best ways to brush their teeth and use dental floss 🪥, and all about nutrition and how it affects our teeth 🍏. We’re already excited to see you all again on April 8th! 🌟

Our spring break culinary campers had an exciting three days in the kitchen! 🍳 They created an amazing variety of recipes, including Chicken Fried Rice 🍚, Pasta and Meatballs 🍝, Tacos 🌮, Nachos 🧀, Shrimp Cocktail 🍤, and comforting Macaroni and Cheese 🧀🍲. The highlight was homemade pizza 🍕, made with love and creativity! ❤️ What a fantastic week filled with flavor and fun! 🎉
