To my three grandbabies…Mimi loves you…quick fun fact about me…Both my Parents are from Brownsville, Tennessee…I remember going to visit my grandparents from where I lived at the time in San Diego, California..my Big Mama and Big Daddy didn’t fly too much but it was such a treat to see them during the holiday breaks..they would make the best sweet tea and biscuits and have the best Sunday Dinners..they would tell me so many stories and I can’t believe I still remember them to this day..I’m super proud of my Son Baby Michael holding down the family in Spokane, Washington while I’m here in Clearwater Beach, Florida 3,000 miles away…he makes sure I get to see them often but being a Grandma 👵🏽 away from my grandbabies this Easter Sunday tugs at my heart like all the Holidays do…it just isn’t the same without their laughter, hugs, and sweet little voices running through the house.

Even though I can’t be with them in person, I’m holding them close in spirit—sending all my love, kisses, and prayers their way today..I’m thankful and Grateful for technology to see their smiling faces, but nothing compares to being able to hold them tight.

Missing them more than words can say, but trusting God’s timing and soaking in the blessings right where I am.

Happy Easter from this long-distance Mimi. Love always wins, and family is forever… xoxo 💋

In 2010, I was laid off from my corporate career in the home building industry during the recession. I lost my job, my house and went through a divorce. I lived on church property for almost 9 months while trying to put my life back together. I was forced to make a career change and accepted a position as a Marketing Coordinator in a senior retirement community. Now as an empty nester, it was there that I found a new passion that allowed me to nurture and care for senior citizens while giving me a new life purpose. After a couple of years, I saw a need and I stepped out in faith to fill a much-needed gap and opened “SILVER ROOTS” in 2014. Our speaker for our event was Barry Rothstein! Thank you so much Barry!!

Barry Rothstein has made St .Petersburg, Florida his home for the past 36 years. Originally from New York City, Rothstein has had a varied career and life having been an Air Traffic Controller at the New York Enroute Traffic Control Center, a marketing account executive, a telecom business to business account executive and currently a Realtor in the Tampa Bay region.

Throughout his life, art has played an important role with his rich background in drawing, illustration and for the last 25 years as an accomplished pastel artist. He was accepted into the Pastel Society of America over a decade ago. As Rothstein recounts, “Since I could pick up a crayon, art is and has always been a constant in my life bringing comfort when times looked their bleakest and taking my mind off things that have caused pain. Most importantly it ultimately has brought much joy to myself and others.”

Through his art, Rothstein showcases his power of determination and resilience. Rothstein’s success as a color blind artist serves as an inspiration to many aspiring artists and those who may face their own obstacles in pursuing their passion in life. He reminds us that we all can flourish even in the face of adversity.

“In addition to my work as a realtor and my art, I also love to travel - many of my pastel paintings are inspired by my travels and for more than a decade I have been involved with an amazing travel club that’s more than just travel and I feel selfish if I don’t share it with whoever I am speaking to. “

Rothstein loves to stay busy whether it’s helping people find their forever home, creating a commissioned pastel painting for others or sharing how one’s life can be amplified through fun and travel.

Rothstein resides with his husband and their 3 cat fur babies.
