If you are on Facebook much, you have probably seen the memes about finding a more adultier adult to handle things. So taking responsibility for the outcome of your birth and even your own health in general can seem like a foreign concept.

Have you heard of the 5️⃣-5️⃣-5️⃣ Rule when it comes to postpartum recovery?! It's one of the BEST pieces of advice I can give new parents.

Recovery time after birth is important; your entire body may be sore after birth and it's important to bond time your new baby. After returning home from the hospital, I urge you to practice the 5️⃣5️⃣5️⃣ Rule!

5️⃣ Days in bed to sleep, cuddle, and feed your baby
5️⃣ Days on the bed – limit out of bed trips to 30 mins
5️⃣ Days around the bed – short walks, small tasks, but lots of cuddles and naps, too.

It's okay if you get nothing done during these days and limit visitors. Rest, get acquainted, and get the hang of breastfeeding.
