Some moments are meant to be felt, not explained.

In this work, there are quiet spaces where presence matters more than words. Moments that remind us what it means to simply be there.

Featuring a member of our Grand Hospice family sharing a quiet moment through song.

Hospice was never meant to be just a service. It began as people showing up for one another, caring for their neighbors with compassion and dignity in life’s most sacred moments.

At Grand Hospice, that’s the heart we aim to return to.

This work isn’t about us. It’s about walking alongside people and meeting them where they are, with care that is personal, intentional, and rooted in love.

Sometimes that means being present in the quiet, sitting at the bedside, or offering comfort when words fall short.
Sometimes, in the middle of a visit, it looks like stepping into small, everyday moments like unloading a dishwasher, helping with a simple task, or easing a burden in whatever way is needed at the time.

Not because it’s expected.
Not because it’s promised.
But because that’s what it looks like to care for your neighbor.

Because hospice is not just healthcare.
First and foremost, it’s people caring for people.

At Grand Hospice, we believe work should feel meaningful, because the mission in front of us matters.

Every day, our team shows up with one goal: to bring comfort, dignity, and joy to each patient we serve.

We’re proud to be a place where compassionate people can live out their calling, make a difference, and end each day knowing their work truly matters.

Last week, our co-founder Mariela Heffel-Martella attended the Grand Opening of Marilyn’s Hope House.

This event wasn’t just about opening doors. It was about creating a place of refuge for women who need safety, support, and a fresh start.

At Grand Hospice, we believe care goes beyond clinical. It’s about showing up for people in difficult seasons and walking with them through it.

We are honored to be part of a community that continually finds ways to shows up for those in need.

Many families worry that starting hospice care means medications will be discontinued.

At Grand Hospice, we understand that concern. That’s why we focus first on building trust with each patient and their loved ones before making any changes.

When someone begins care with us, we sit down together and review each medication. The goal isn’t to stop things. It’s to make sure everything being taken is truly helping.

We look at whether a medication supports comfort, whether it’s related to the illness, and whether it’s still appropriate at this stage. If it is, it stays. If it’s not, we talk through options and make decisions together.

Hospice isn’t about doing less. It’s about being intentional with care and focusing on what truly helps.

The goal is simple.
Keep what brings comfort, let go of what doesn’t, and support each patient in the way that matters most.

We had an incredible turnout at the TAGS Faith Round Table this week, and we’re still reflecting on what a meaningful time it was.

We had the opportunity to gather alongside community partners, caregivers, and leaders who all share a heart for serving others well. There was connection, encouragement, and honest conversation about walking with people through some of life’s most difficult seasons.

Felicia Badger delivered a powerful message rooted in hope, purpose, and faith in the middle of brokenness. It resonated deeply with many in the room and reinforced something we believe at our core:

People don’t just need care. They need to feel seen, supported, and guided through the journey.
At Grand Hospice, that is a mission we take to heart every day.

We’re grateful to be part of a community that shows up, leans in, and serves with compassion and intention. And we’re thankful to partner with organizations like Westmore Senior Living and Cityview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center who share that same commitment.

This event was a powerful reminder that when we come together with purpose, we can make a real difference in the lives of the patients and families we’re called to serve.

This event is today! We hope to see you there. 💙

We’re honored to partner with TAGS for this meaningful Faith Round Table.

Join us as Felicia Badger shares a message of hope, healing, and purpose for those walking through life’s hardest seasons. Conversations like these matter because behind every diagnosis is a person, a family, and a story that deserves to be met with compassion and truth.

At Grand Hospice, we believe this work is sacred. It is a privilege to stand alongside our community, creating space for encouragement, connection, and faith.
