As a result of our conversation last week on perspectives and how we see goodness and badness, this week, on Saturday, April 11th, in Coffee and Conversation, we will discuss our tendencies and predispositions. The plan is to spend time talking about how we uproot patterns of thinking and acting.
🧠
Saṃskāra is a Sanskrit word that means actions joined together; vāsanā is a cluster of saṃskāra. Action (karma) leads to impressions (saṃskāra) which lead to tendencies (vāsanā) that lead to thought patterns or churnings of the mind (vṛttis). Our aim might be to dissolve or clear the mind, so we are not driven by unconscious grooves. Our dispositions affect our perception of the world. This week, we are looking at how we can unstick, uproot, or smooth the grooves.
