This week is for US.
For the mamas navigating pregnancy, postpartum, healing, and everything in between ā especially when it feels like no one sees the weight you carry.
Black Maternal Mental Health Week is a reminder that your mental health matters just as much as your physical health. That your feelings are valid. That you deserve care that listens, supports, and uplifts you.
š” Did you know?
ā Black women are twice as likely to experience perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs)
ā Yet they are half as likely to receive treatment
ā Systemic racism, stigma, and lack of culturally competent care all contribute to gaps in care and drive unfavorable outcomes for mom and baby
We deserve better ā and weāre claiming it. Letās keep holding space for Black moms to rest, be real, and be well ā not just this week, but always. šš¤š
