What I love about public health is that it is dedicated to empowering people. My interest in public health lies in the intersections of education and healthcare and assessing the health disparities that affect low-income communities of color and coming up with solutions to combat them. I chose public health because I believe everyone has a right to be an active participant in their healthcare and a duty to educate and empower others to better understand the intersections of health and public policy.
