It's been a hot minute...but of course we're still here and we are still listening. As Vaccine Queens, we've always prided ourselves on personal choice. If people needed help, we offered it.

Many Ohioans now need help to protect reproductive freedom. Stacey Bene and I will be working together tomorrow, 4/1 from 12-4 p.m., in Bainbridge - Heritage Park, 17870 Chillicothe Road. We are collecting signatures for the Right to Reproductive Freedom with Protections for Health and Safety. We need 800,000+ Ohioans to sign over the next few months. And we are going to meet that goal. Thank you everyone.

If you can't get out to Bainbridge, check out these other events near you. https://redwine.blue/ohio/events/signature-events/

As vaccine rollout begins for our youngest population, not all of the pharmacies are scheduling yet. Hopefully soon! Via a tip from a friend, we did see that Walgreens.com has openings for 3-years-old and up right now. If you are looking to book in the next few days, that would be one place to consider.

So obviously we are not doctors or public health experts. We are volunteers. But what I do want to say that Covid is rampant in my circle right now. I get text messages daily from individuals who are testing positive.

The simple advice we can give is: If you have not had Covid recently, you need to wear a mask when indoors to avoid getting it. Otherwise, there is a high chance you are going to get it.

Again, we aren't the CDC or your local public health department. Please consider doing this while we are in this spike to keep yourself and others as safe as possible.

It has been 781 days since my family first went into quarantine. We tried to do everything we needed to do to stay safe. Based on data and numbers in our local area, we allowed our girls to stop wearing masks in school on March 21, nearly 6 weeks AFTER our schools first dropped the mask mandate.

Here we are on May 3, and 2 out of my 3 daughters + my husband are now positive for Covid. We are thankful for vaccines but also want to use this platform as guidance to anyone who still needs a booster shot or is on the fence about vaccination.

Thank you and take care ❤️

On Masking

This graphic is from the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists.

To clarify, with Omicron, these times decrease. The moral of the story here is to try to gain access to high-quality masks if possible. ♥️

CUYAHOGA COUNTY RESIDENTS WHO ARE SELF-TESTING AT HOME - PLEASE DO YOUR PART AND SELF-REPORT POSITIVE TESTS.
(WKYC article below)

This is the current system CCBH is using:

In order to properly self-report a COVID-19 case confirmed by at-home testing, residents of Cuyahoga County must email the following information to dataentry1@ccbh.net

Full name
Address
Phone number
Date of birth
Race
Ethnicity
Time and date the test showed a positive COVID-19 result
Brand of test taken (for example, "QuickVue At-Home OTC COVID-19 Test")
All of the above information must be included, or else the COVID-19 case cannot be counted among the county's official numbers.

OFFICIAL NEWS RELEASE

Community COVID-19 Testing Site Opening Tuesday in Cleveland

The site will be located at the W.O. Walker Building and will be staffed by the Ohio National Guard and Ohio Department of Health

Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals will support a community COVID-19 testing site staffed by the Ohio National Guard and the Ohio Department of Health.

The on-site, drive-thru testing will be located in the garage of the W. O. Walker Building in University Circle, 10524 Euclid Ave., Cleveland.

The Walker Center Cleveland Community COVID-19 Testing Site will open on Tuesday, Dec. 21. It will initially operate Tuesday through Sunday of this week, but will be closed on Saturday, December 25. The testing site will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Additional hours and sites may be announced in the future.

Patients do not need an appointment but will need to register prior to coming to the site at: https://mako.exchange/scheduler/select-state/. Please select “Ohio” and then search for the Walker Center location. You may choose if you are a patient of Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals or neither. The testing is free, open to everyone and individuals do not need a doctor’s order to obtain a test. The site will offer PCR tests, and individuals will receive their results in approximately 2-3 days. Masks are required except when testing is underway.

Northeast Ohio is currently experiencing a surge in COVID-19 infections and increased demand for healthcare services, particularly in our emergency departments. To best serve our patients in need of emergency services, Greater Cleveland’s hospital systems will limit COVID-19 testing in emergency departments to patients who are going to be admitted to the hospital. The change will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 21, at all Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, MetroHealth System, and St. Vincent Charity Medical Center locations.

The Ohio Department of Health, Cleveland Clinic, and University Hospitals ask those in need of testing to utilize the Walker Center Cleveland Community COVID-19 Testing Site. This will allow emergency department personnel to focus on urgent medical emergencies, as the hospital systems continue to treat record numbers of patients for COVID-19.

The Ohio Department of Health is offering free rapid at-home antigen testing kits at many sites across the state of Ohio, including local health departments, public libraries, and community health centers. These self-testing kits may also be available for purchase at local pharmacies and retailers. It is important to know, per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, that a patient who is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 and receives a positive test result on a home antigen test (self-test kit) does not need a PCR test to confirm a positive COVID-19 diagnosis, and should immediately isolate and work with public health officials for any necessary contact tracing. Using the rapid tests when available will give patients in need of a PCR test faster access to testing.

People who are in medical distress are still encouraged to utilize the emergency departments, or call 911.
