What does the term "self care" mean to you?
Do you think that "self care" is important to your mental, physical, and emotional health?
If so are you actually making to time to take care of yourself?
MentalHealthFirstAid.org says "engaging in a self-care routine has been clinically proven to reduce or eliminate anxiety and depression, reduce stress, increase happiness, and more."
I know it can be easy to overlook taking care of our personal needs and there are many reasons for this. We are all facing overwhelming challenges. Personally, I battled with prioritizing self care during these past winter months. Between virus after virus, gray skies, caring for loved ones, and day to day life it was easy to drop the ball! But once I picked it back up, I could feel the energy and balance return to my life and my personality. One of the ways I addressed my needs was "STRESS REDUCTION" through Biofeedback.
If you haven't tried Biofeedback, or it's been a while and you feel like you need a pick me up, I encourage you to make an appointment today! You can choose to give to your self a session ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Whether you need a session with added support or just a silent session we can make it happen!
A quote on the website Forbes.com said
"If leaders are not looking after themselves, then how can they realistically take care of their people?"
While everyone isn't in a demanding leadership role with a fortune 500 company, we are all leaders in our own lives. We are all giving of ourselves in many ways and this drains us. So let's make sure we are refilling the cup of our lives by making some time to distress and enjoying some "self care".
