Gov. Reeves has officially proclaimed April as Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month in Mississippi! As the proclamation says, this month is a time to educate the public, promote acceptance, and encourage meaningful action. All Mississippians are urged to learn more about the unique perspectives of autistic people and families and to recognize the many ways they contribute to our state and nation.

Along with DMH representatives are Mississippi Autism Advisory Council members Lynda Balfour and Rhonda Upton, Deyanna Buckner with Hamilton Davis, and clients Malik Ducksworth and Prentiss Willson. Thanks to everyone who joined us for this proclamation signing, and thanks to Gov. Reeves for this recognition. We look forward to sharing more with you this month about the new Division of Autism that was recently created within DMH!

At The Bridge, we do more than talk about opportunity—we build pathways to it.

We are proud to partner with The WIN Job Center to create meaningful job development opportunities for our prevocational participants. Experiences like these help young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities explore careers, strengthen workplace readiness skills, and gain exposure to the tools and resources that support long-term success.

This partnership reflects what we believe at The Bridge: with the right support, preparation, and community connections, our participants can move toward greater independence, confidence, and purpose.

The Bridge is leading the way in workforce development for young adults with IDD by connecting learning to real-world opportunity. We are not just preparing participants for jobs—we are helping them build futures.

Thank you to The WIN Job Center for partnering with us in this important work.

Good food. Great laughs. Even better fellowship. 🐟💙❤️💛

This week, The Bridge enjoyed a delicious outing at The Catfish Cabin, and it was more than just a meal—it was a time of connection, community, and joy. From crispy catfish to smiling faces around the table, every moment reminded us that some of the best memories are made when we come together.

At The Bridge, fellowship matters. Sharing meals helps build conversation, confidence, friendship, and a sense of belonging—and that is what community is all about.

Thank you, Catfish Cabin, for the warm hospitality and tasty food. We had a wonderful time!

The Bridge painted unicorns, but we also painted joy, imagination, and possibility.

Unicorns remind us that what makes us unique is often what makes us powerful. At The Bridge, we celebrate creativity, individuality, and the beautiful magic each participant brings to the world.

Every brushstroke was a reminder that being different is something to be celebrated.

Be bold. Be bright. Be beautifully you.

Work readiness is more than learning job skills—it’s also knowing how to dress appropriately. 👔✨

At The Bridge, our Prevocational Training teaches young people how to dress for success, because presentation builds confidence and helps open doors to opportunity.

We don’t just talk about professionalism—we practice it.

Drop a 👔 if you agree: presentation is part of preparation!

Bridge Vision in Motion | December at The Bridge

December wasn’t a slow-down month at The Bridge—it was a launchpad. 💙❤️💛

We gathered our participants, staff, and leadership around one bold question:
What’s possible when vision meets action?

Through our Bridge Vision in Motion experience, dreams were spoken out loud, goals were claimed with confidence, and futures were put on the board with intention. This wasn’t arts and crafts. This was strategy. This was ownership. This was belief turning into movement.

What we witnessed was powerful:
• Young adults naming goals bigger than fear
• Staff aligning personal purpose with collective impact
• A shared commitment to do the work—not just wish for the outcome

2026 isn’t coming quietly.
It’s being built on purpose.

Look out, 2026.
The Bridge is blazing trails, breaking ceilings, and blowing possibilities out of the water.

Vision set.
Momentum activated.
The future is in motion.
