April is Month of the Military Child, and April 15 is Purple Up Day. Celebrate this special day in honor of the children everywhere whose parents serve in the military.
These strong kids also serve—through moves, deployments, and more alongside their military families.
Show your support for them by wearing your brightest and best purple outfit, so they know they’re seen and appreciated, as their moms and dads serve our country and keep us ALL safe.

04.14 Air Force Reserve Birthday

Happy 78th Birthday, Air Force Reserve!
Established in 1948 as a supplement to the active-duty Air Force, these reservists continue to be a key component of national defense. They support a variety of missions—always standing by, ready for rapid mobilization during emergencies, typically within 72 hours.

Thank you to these more than 70,000 men and women for serving with dedication and excellence
at a moment’s notice.

04.09 Former POW Recognition Day

In 1988, then-President Ronald Reagan officially designated April 9 as National Former Prisoner of War (POW) Recognition Day. Its purpose is to recognize the bravery, resilience, and sacrifices made by former POWs of all wars, and it is a solemn reminder of the hardships they faced as well as a celebration of their enduring spirit.
Please take a moment today to honor and thank these heroes.

Tickets for the 12th Annual Memorial Golf Outing on May 16 are now SOLD OUT!

We are all so thankful for another strong show of support for this event and the Fisher House families it benefits.

With that in mind, Veteran sign sponsorships are still being accepted.

These 2' x 2' signs honor your loved one who served (or is currently serving), by featuring their photo, name, branch, and rank.

Each sign will be displayed at Briardale Golf Course that day.

Following the outing, you can take the sign home and proudly display it all year round. Or, if you're not present, we'll take a photo of it for you and post to Facebook, as well as meet up with you afterward so you have it.

04.05 Gold Star Spouses Day
The tradition of the Gold Star began in WWI, when families displayed a blue star service flag while their loved one started serving in the military. If the service member perished
during their active duty, the blue star was replaced with a gold star, to symbolize the ultimate sacrifice made by the family.
Each year, Sunday, April 5, officially honors the strength and sacrifices of these resilient and courageous Gold Star spouses and their families. This special day serves as a tribute to the fallen as well as a reminder of the ongoing commitment of military families to our nation.
We stand beside them, hold them up when they need it, and thank them and support them
every single day.
