Last month, we asked and you answered! We did an in house survey to find out what kind of activities everyone was most excited about, and we got so many fun and creative ideas. One of the top picks? A trip to the zoo.

So that’s exactly what we did this week!

We had an amazing time exploring all the different exhibits and watching the animals in action.

And the weather? Absolutely perfect!

Thanks to everyone who shared their ideas. We’re looking forward to planning even more outings like this one!

Do you find transportation inaccessible? It shouldn’t be. Join us on Saturday, September 20, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Cleveland Public Square for NOCDO’s 4th Annual March for Access! Together, we will march for more accessible transportation and honor the 40th anniversary of the Cleveland Bus Protests.

Schedule:
🖋️10:00 am: Visit resource tables and make posters
🧑‍🦯‍➡️11:00 am: Rally and March
📸 12:00 pm: March photo and resource tables

Parking:
There will be free parking at the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities Lakeside parking lot [1275 Lakeside Avenue East, Cleveland, OH 44114]. Those parking at the CCBDD lot will have access to a free ADA shuttle to Public Square provided by Youth Challenge.

Hey Cleveland! 😄
Today some of our folks took a trip to the West side market and had a BLAST! When asked what they were excited for, we heard an array of answers. But all of them had one thing in common. Food!🥤🍊🍕 Our people know what's up, huh?

Don't worry if you didn't get a chance to go yet, We're doing this trip a few more times this month. Let's make the most of this weather. ☀️

Heat wave? Meet flavor wave.
This summer has been a scorcher, so we decided to turn down the heat, one frosty bite at a time! Our participants at both ADS locations got to enjoy shaved ice, and the smiles said it all. A big shout-out to Kona Ice for keeping us cool and satisfying our flavor cravings!

Last Monday we opened the doors to our new building, and this is how it went. Absolutely Ah-Maz-Ing!
Our friends were quick to socialize in the game room, start learning in the computer lab, and our folks in Voc Hab (Vocational Habilitation) got right to work helping us add little touches here and there!
From the bottom of our hearts, we are so happy everyone is loving the new location!!!

Reflecting on 6 Wonderful Years
As we prepare to move into our new location next week, we’ve been reflecting on the past six years. What a journey it’s been!

Our current space has been more than just a building; it’s been a place full of laughter, growth, friendships, and incredible moments shared with the individuals and families we serve. We've celebrated milestones, built a strong sense of community, and created a space where everyone belongs.

We’re so proud of what we’ve built here and while we’ll miss these walls, we’re even more excited for what’s ahead. Our new location is the next chapter: bigger, brighter, and filled with new opportunities to thrive, together.

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of this chapter with us. Your support, trust, and friendship have made all the difference. Here’s to the next season of skill building, friendship making, and exploring the community in our new home!
