American Sickle Cell Anemia Association ASCAA is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization in Cleveland, Ohio. Helping families and individuals with sickle cell anemia since 1971.

The American Sickle Cell Anemia Association (ASCAA), provides services, but aren't limited to:

- Promote the early identification of newborns, children and adults with or at risk for sickle cell disease by providing diagnostic screening at NO COST.

- Expand community education and public awareness of sickle cell anemia and other hemoglobin variants to all.

- Increase the awareness, knowledge an

Join us for a day of environmental awareness, community engagement, and fun activities in celebration of Arbor Day on Friday, April 25 from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.! Enjoy FREE admission, giveaways, music, free seedlings for the first 300 households, and more. Join HF&G President & CEO, Ed Moydell and the City of Cleveland for an Arbor Day ceremonial tree planting. Remarks will begin at 1 p.m. in Woodland Hall, followed by the ceremonial planting off East Boulevard. HF&G will also hold a community resource fair from 1 – 8 p.m. with tabling from organizations including Cleveland Playhouse, City Fresh CSA, Environmental Health Watch, Ohio Guidestone and more. Our Mission

The American Sickle Cell Anemia Association (ASCAA) was incorporated in 1971 as a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization. The mission of this organization is to provide comprehensive education, testing, counseling and supportive services to the population at risk for sickle cell anemia and its variants. Further, its intent is to ensure quality and quantitative care in the provision of the comprehensive service to affected individuals and families. Annually, ASCAA provides education, counseling, testing, supportive services to more than 15'000 individuals in Region V (Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, and Medina counties).

There are multiple ways in which ASCAA reaches out to the communities, such as health fairs, resource fairs and an online educational videos called Sickle Talk©. ASCAA also has several social media platforms, such as YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
