James Henry Murphy was the oldest child born to Charles and Revester Key Murphy on July 17, 1945, in Knoxville, Tennessee. He peacefully transitioned on March 3, 2024, at his home. Preceded in death by his parents, Revester Key Murphy Jarnigan and Charles Murphy; sisters, Regina Murphy Wallace and Maria Jarnigan; oldest son, James “Squeeky” Yarbrough; niece, Samantha Jenkins, and nephew, Lamont Jarnigan.

James was educated in the Knoxville City Schools and was a graduate of the Austin High School, class of 1964. He was retired from Ideal Cement Company. He enjoyed lifting weights and a bodybuilder with his friends.

His memory will live on through his family; daughters Sharon (Niecy) Yarbrough, Kacey Boatwright, and Carmen Yarbrough; sons, Kevin Lee of Atlanta, George, Condus Murphy, James Murphy II; devoted sister Dorothy Ann Murphy ( Kenneth) Jenkins; brother, William (Junie) Janice Strong; daughter- in-law, Beverly Yarbrough; step brother Johnny Red; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; nephew, Kenneth (Nikki) Jenkins, Jr., Sabastin Jarnigan, nieces, Melanie, Kim, Shadrema, and Kizzie Wallace, Takilya Jarnigan; a host of great nieces, and nephews, and cousins; special friends, Stenson Easley, Michael Dotson, Francell Golightly and many, many of friends too numerous to name.

Saturday, March 09, 2024, family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m.at Payne Avenue Baptist Church, 2714 Martin Luther King Avenue, Knoxville, TN.. A Funeral service to follow. Interment to follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery, 2400 Berry Road, Knoxville, TN. where a white dove release will conclude the service. Flowers may be delivered to the church prior to the service. Judy Irvin Williams, affectionately known as Judy to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2024, in Knoxville, TN, at 81. Born on February 1, 1943, in South Carolina, Judy was a beacon of love and faith throughout her life.

Judy was a proud graduate of Austin High School, class of 1961. Judy married the love of her life, Rev. Olsey Williams, Sr. Her life was a testament to the joys of simple pleasures and the strength found in family and faith.

Judy cherished her role as a devoted wife and mother, and her home was always filled with warmth and laughter. She was a longtime member of Peace and Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church, and during the pandemic, she continued to nurture her spiritual growth through Bible study with the Lighthouse Ministry under the guidance of Mrs. Jeanette Witt.

Judy enjoyed long walks, where she found peace and solace in nature. Her fondness for flea marketing was well-known, as she delighted in discovering treasures and sharing them with those she loved. Above all, Judy's love for the Lord was her greatest passion, shining brightly in every aspect of her life.

Those who knew her as faith-filled and thoughtful describe Judy's legacy as one of unwavering belief and kindness. Her spirit was a guiding light that will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Judy was preceded in death by her beloved parents, James and Lorraine Clinkscales Irvin; her husband, Rev. Olsey Williams, Sr.; her son, Robert Williams; and her grandson, Tyrell Williams; stepchildren, Sylvester, Walter, Mary Williams, and Susie Brooks

She is survived by her loving children, Olsey Williams, Jr., and Clara Mae Williams; stepson, Elder Willie Williams, Sr. ;grandchildren, LLatricia (Andre Doughty), Tomas, Olsey Antonio, DayOlseya, Riley, Xzavier Williams; great-grandchildren, Malachi Williams-Higgs and Joshua Sawyer, II and numerous family members who will cherish her memory.

Thank You to her special and caring friend, Sarhonda Thompson. You have truly been a blessing in our lives.

Judy's life was a beautiful tapestry of love, faith, and service. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered as a woman who lived gracefully and passionately. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with her loved ones in the presence of the Lord she so dearly loved.
