Norris Brothers Announces Leadership Changes
CLEVELAND, OHIO – Norris Brothers Company, an industrial contractor with over 150 years of history, announced today that Joseph B. Michael has retired from the position as President and CEO of the Company. Courtney Norris assumed the role of CEO/COO effective August 1. Mr. Norris is part of the fifth generation of the Norris family to lead the Company. The Company provides a wide range of industrial contracting services including heavy machinery moving and rigging, machinery maintenance, repair, and overhaul, and a variety of specialized construction services.

Mr. Michael joined the Company in 2017 and has served as its President and CEO since 2018. During his leadership, the Company has enjoyed record growth and stability following a transition of ownership with the Norris family. Most recently, the Company was engaged in the construction of the coater lines in automotive battery plants in Lordstown, Ohio, Spring Hill, Tennessee, and Lansing, Michigan. Mr. Michael, the husband of shareholder Kathleen Norris Michael, commented: “It has been my great pleasure to lead Norris Brothers over these years. This is a great company with great history, and I know the company will continue to flourish under Courtney’s leadership.”

Mr. Norris becomes the CEO/COO after serving most recently as the Company’s Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Norris earned his Bachelor of Science (Civil Engineering) and Master of Engineering from Case Western Reserve University. Courtney has been in engineering and construction his entire career. Mr. Norris said: “I am honored to take the role as CEO/COO of Norris Brothers. My family is deeply rooted in this company, and we have a unique opportunity to build upon the strong foundation laid under Joe’s direction.”
Sydney Reardon was promoted to the position of Chief Financial Officer and will oversee all financial matters related to the Company’s business.

Alexander Blazys' statue returned to the South lawn at the Cleveland Museum of Art after being refurbished from the wear and tear from the outdoor climate.

Norris Brothers unloaded and set in place the massive bronze sculpture Freeing the Oppressed on the North Side of Public Square last evening. The statue depicts human trafficking slaves being released from capitivity. Created by world renowned artist Timothy Schmalz. The sculpture will be displayed on Public Square from September 27, 2023 through March 31, 2024.
